Exarkun1178 Posted Saturday at 07:29 AM Author Posted Saturday at 07:29 AM One item that surprised me was the stated weight placard the placard showed 860kg. Until that moment I had been under the impression that the car weight a flexible 610kg That’s a significant difference 610 kg ≈ 1,345 lbs 860 kg ≈ 1,897lbs at 1900lbs, that’s damn close to my former Elise, and ~400lbs more than my old europa. The caterham web specs list the 610 and various publications reference that number. hp per ton certainly shifts a good bit. 610 kg: ≈ 508.2 hp/ton 860 kg: ≈ 360.5 hp/ton
BlakeJ Posted Saturday at 09:40 AM Posted Saturday at 09:40 AM It may be the gross vehicle weight rating listed on the placard. 1
Ferdl Posted Saturday at 10:28 AM Posted Saturday at 10:28 AM Probably 360kg max load on front and 500kg on rear axle
CBuff Posted Saturday at 11:22 AM Posted Saturday at 11:22 AM My 2023 420 has the same plate. It was weighed for registration at 1300lbs. (Which sounds like a very round number to be truly accurate ). But that’s what I am going with. I do carry a bunch of crap with me and I have some lbs to myself. I did buy some cheap floor scales and will at some point weigh it myself.
Exarkun1178 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Weekend at knockhill was great. enjoyed watching the academy series. My son loved the 310R group. interesting thing at Knockhill. On Saturday the drove the track counterclockwise. On Sunday they went clockwise Both turn ones was great. And looked like everyone got all 4 wheels off the ground in another (on Sunday). Meet up with the Caterham folks including Callie, who arranged much of the weekend for us. IMG_6264.mov Edited 11 hours ago by Exarkun1178 3
Exarkun1178 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago (edited) We picked up the SV from Ian at Celtic caterham- only a few minutes from the circuit. Then headed out north west. had some wonderful one lane mt roads. we ended up passing through Glencoe at its most ominous. Looked like some thing out of lord of the rings (except for the few spots loaded with folks stopping to film the valley. once we came out the north end. The sky lifted and the sun came. Stayed the night at Ballachulish Set back out for Knockhil, but not before my son insisted we look for Nessie. Edited 11 hours ago by Exarkun1178 3
williamwashere Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago What an experience. I watched a bit of the race online, what a photo finish today. Seems like you need to hide a vinyl Nessie logo somewhere on the car when you get it! 1
Exarkun1178 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Taking a closer look at I’m surprised that the rear calipers don’t allow quick pull out pads looking like I’ll need to remove the center calipers to swap pads.
