MHKflyer52 Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=516687&in_page_id=1770 Ok. "Splinter" might be appropriate as I do not think I would want to be the first person to hit a pot-hole with a suspension made of wood let alone riding on wheel centers that are wood with that type of HP being put to the ground. It is good looking though wonder if it floats.
WestTexasS2K Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Man that guy has some serious talent. Wood and I dont get along all that well. metals is easy to use in comparison to wood. I am not sure I would want to get in a wreck in the car. You could be pulling splinters from your A** for a long long time.
powderbrake Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 The story implies that wood is better than carbon fiber, and that F1 will be using it. In your dreams fella!
southwind25 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 sooooo...instead of rust and oxidation, does it have a warranty against termites and dry rot? do you have to have it inspected for ash borer to drive it across state lines?. Yeah wood is indeed a good strong material, just look at the boats still being made from it!or those that have lasted for 100's of years...however....theres a reason that allot of boats now use a carbon fiber or aluminum masts instead of wood, laminated or not! Same here. Sure wood has some great limited applications.
stevet Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 700bhp from its twin supercharged, 4.6litre V8 engine Er... doesn't wood burn...

But you can use the remains in your fireplace.....which begs the question if such a car needs an upgraded fire extinguisher system.
