Hudson
Andrew Still, director, of Open Road Hire has arranged with his insurance company to accept non UK licensed drivers. LOUD CHEER The pictures are stunning. http://scenicscotland.org/lochrannoch.aspx Time to start studying Scottish weather..... but as with most seven trips if you assume it is going to rain everyday you are sometimes pleasantly surprised. I'll end up taking whatever week I can get away from the job. Alaskossie
Ed, Are you shipping your own car, or locating a Seven to borrow or for hire in Scotland (or are you to be a passenger)? My wife and I hiked the Wet Highland Way in Scotland (96 miles from Glasgow to Fort William) in August six years ago, and we had only 10 minutes of drizzle the entire 8-day trip. Saw enough sheep for a lifetime, though.... A beautiful country, all in all. Alaskossie
Hudson
Alaskossie, I'm planning on renting an SV from http://www.openroadhire.co.uk/ They originally only rented to UK licensed drivers but I have been pestering (begging) for the past year and their insurance company finally said "yes". Al N.
Ed, I'm surprised that showing them that you were a bona fide Seven owner didn't seal the deal...and also that they don't offer an r500 for those customers who are used to a certain power to weight ratio! soareyes
Thanks Ed for bringing this to our attention. Another trip added to the "must do" list!
WestTexasS2K
I am jealous, that is going to be a fun trip. I lived in North Yorkshire Dales of the UK for 3 years the scenery is postcard beautiful. We made several trips north which looks much the same. Since owning a 7 I have always wanted to go back and drive some of those roads. Good luck on the trip pray for no rain. Hudson
Al, I have to confess I sent a picture of my car in the first e-mail. Stan (and all), They have four cars and groups trips are fun..... Ed
JohnCh
From the website, I see you have an option of renting either a 140hp K with 6-speed, or a 150hp Sigma with 5-speed. Whichever car you choose, just make sure you take it easy. You aren’t used to handling a car with that much power ;-) -John

JohnCh
That's probably a good thing. If it had pulled any harder over 5000rpm, then I probably would have ruined my new pants -John
stevet
Ed, good luck with the trip and the weather - sounds like a blast! I did a 10 day tour round Scotland nearly 20 years ago in my Sierra Cosworth and had great fun (and great weather - just lucky I guess). Look out for the sheep if you get well North :ack: L - where in the Yorkshire Dales did you live? I grew up not far from there. Steve.
