Newsletter with contest

Recommended Posts

Okay it has been discussed (sort of) and we are going to attempt a newsletter. The ideas behind it are to provide a quick summary of forum happenings, give a quick report of the state of the club, a few articles, and listings of events in your area. It also will give us a place to post members only info. Yes I know you can get a lot of this by visiting the forum, but there are times when you may miss something, there a many club members that do not visit this site (I know their problem, but...) This newsletter will be bi-monthly (every-other), hopefully, and sent to your registered email in a pdf format.

What I ask of the forum is to submit articles, in a final proof form. I will not edit anything other than for spelling and grammer. (I at times lack in these abilities so bear with me.) We are looking for tech articles, stories about a drive or local club event, your first exposure to a LSiS, a quip or quote. Basically anything you would like to write about, heck if you want to write a letter commenting about the club feel free. And be sure to tell us about any local events that may welcome LSiS cars. I am not going to guarentee that everything will get pubilshed right away, we are trying to keep this to 8 or so pages.

Finally we are leaving the naming of the newsletter up to you. Just add you suggestion to this thread and we can see the response. The winner will get a framed picture of a Lotus Esprit, that was given to me at the Carlise event by club member Andrew7 (I really, really hope I got this right I was really busy those days and have trouble with names).

Submit articles to sparecr@supersevens.com. The submission deadline is July 7. And I hope to be able to publish July 15.

The only way to get this newsletter is to be a paying member, so let's get busy.

Bump.

Hey forum members...a reminder to get your name ideas into John V. ASAP. Articles, too — particularly regional goings on/plans for the coming quarter.

If we don't get some good names entered, I will inundate John with newsletter name options like:

• Al Navarro Misses Orange - a quarterly update

• The Steve Taylor Fortnightly

• WTF is Ebrahimi Doing to his car now?

• Bugger All: Colin Chapman was Wrong!

• Blats, Boots, and Bonnets (actually, that's not that terrible)

...I've got a million of them, and will be here all the week.

Thank you in advance,

Al Navarro

P.S. Maybe post 'em here for public review/derision.

Al,

I do have an update on LOG 28 that I would like to add. The flyer was originally posted under National events, however, we have added directions from downtown Indy plus advising that you can have your Autocross and Track day Tech inspection done while enjoying the cookout. Mark will have a few race cars in the shop for your view pleasure plus a number of visitors from the racing community to visit with while enjoying the food and shop tour.

Thanks, Jack

Hope everyone can make it to LOG 28...Se7ens replicas are welcome. Pre-registration ends today, 6/27/08

Keep the ideas coming, I have seen a few good ones, but remember the deadline is July 7 anything after that is well to late. This goes for the articles also. Come on guys write a paragraph about something.

Remember you can post ideas her for the name, I think it is good to have the forum sort of vote here. But for articles and events please send to sparecr@supersevens.com it makes it easier on me. (Jack you are fine)

While its not anything cool involving assorted uses of the 7 I was thinking it could be called Road Trip. I know when boredom set in, when someone called road trip, we were headed somewhere, just none knew where. Sometimes to the lake, once a marathon drive to the beach (12 hours away) alternating drivers, spending a few hours there then heading back. To me Road Trip could mean a short blat, a long planned out run or just a trip to Wendy's. Stories are told (not all true but still entertaining) and a good time is had.
