I like most of the previous titles, what about "Road Stormers" could also be used for favorite routes section. I was looking at old planes thinking Barnstormers and thought of my seven driving down the road.

another one "The Wobbly Wheel"

Low Down sounds like a Hispanic magazine devoted to hydraulics and riding on 3 wheels.

There is a Lotus wheel (mostly fitted to race cars) called the "Wobbly Web" ....so if we go that route, there's a nod toward the Chapman era....

I don't think so, I think it's John's call as editor/instigator/prez.

I assumed that chiming in for your favorite can't hurt, but in the end, it's his call....

I don't believe that Wobbly Web wheels ever came on a Seven though, at least not from Lotus. All the factory pics I have seen has them with spoke wheels or pressed steel with or without hubcaps

Morgan-

You obviously don't have enough Se7en books! I think the Seven and 1/2 (there was such a vehicle) one off wore wobbly webs in at least one of the pics I've seen.

But did the car come with them, or did an owner put them on the car? Was it a one off?

Personally, when I think of the Wobbly Web wheel, it brings to mind the early Formula cars and Sports Racers, not the road cars or 7's. Chapman was too cheap to put them on road cars LOL

I seen the Wobbly Web wheels in my Lotus and Caterham books. Just as Caterhams previous magazine before Low Flying was called Seven and they hold the trademark for the word Seven pertaining to a car. I did not want any legal entanglements with using the Wobbly Web name, hence The Wobbly Wheel, plus it sounded more like a car magazine. I'll vote for either one.

I know that some of the 7 specials had the Wobbly Web wheels, but I remember reading that you could get them dealer installed or special order. Here's a picture of one of them:

I know new replica wheels are available in the 4-bolt pattern to fit the original Lotus 7 bolt pattern.

PS: Just noticed that this one has the 6-bolt rear wheel set-up.

I am sure you could get anything you want in the day, and I have no doubt some installed WW's on their Sevens, but I am not sure they came from the factory with the wheels. I could be wrong.

Regardless, IMO, calling the newsletter "wobbly web" or the like, is not appropriate for this application, especially since mostly we are talking about replicas and/or cars that are merely inspired by the concept. The name would be more befitting of a newsletter for true classic Lotus cars. Of course this is in my humble opinion as someone who owns an old Lotus ;)

Morgan is correct. Webs were never an option for the Lotus Seven. :frog:Of course Chapman for the right price would build you anything you wanted (except a Twin Cam car, until the very end). The 7 1/2 is a one off custom by Hugh Haskell (sp?) I believe, so it doesn't really count.

I just like the name as it brings back memories of early Lotus, which is what our cars pay tribute to. Of course if it doesn't win maybe my new national Lotus magazine could use a title. Of course I do need my new national Lotus Magazine.
