slngsht
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=2056958 So I'm getting Service Active Handling soon code in my C6 for the past few weeks. Take it in for service - and to service a few other items. Get a call at 2pm today, the names were changed to protect the innocent. Service guy: Hey Terry, I'm calling about your vette. I have a few questions for you as I'm trying to solve the SAH error. Me: OK shoot. SG: So you say you get this under hard acceleration correct? Me: Yes. Not going crazy on it. But seems to happen mostly when I give a good blip in 2nd or 3rd. Mostly. SG: OK well have you reprogrammed the ECM at all with your mods you have? Me: no, I only have a KN airfilter, Borlas, and the hurst shifter. No need for that. SG: Hmm ok... interesting. I'm detecting its getting a lean code as well. Notice anything at all like a lack of power? Me: Well I don't really romp on it. So not really. SG: OK well I pulled the history from the ECM. Seems like you get this issue at or about 108 mph shifting from 3rd to 4th. Does that sound right? Me: SG: I see you had it up to about 149 and you've topped it out at 173 so far. Notice anything when you reach those speeds? Me: Hmmm. That's odd. Really? 173? I could have sworn the HUD had me at 176...but I digress. No - didn't notice anything. SG: OK I think we'll clean the MAF out and retighten down the clamps for the filter. Sometimes if you are pulling hard - and go lean - it will trip a code since the engine isn't operating correctly so it will slow the car down. Me: Do what you need to do...I appreciate it... The rest of the call was uneventful. But he did mention I take very good care of my ride. Was amazed it had 30k on it with a clean bay and no swirl marks and its a 2005. Man, I knew they could pull codes and like the last 10 seconds after a crash. I didn't know it kept a history. Good thing my insurance agent can't see it. :willy:  I should have blamed it all on my wife

Mike Rohaley
How long until the states figure out that this is a great way to generate much more revenue without the need to hide behind bridges with radar guns?

gjslutz
I have also heard the rumor that at 173 @ 2:00 AM on a narrow 2 lane moon lit road wives will come unglued. As I understand it was to check out a high speed miss that wouldn’t show up till around 160 in 5th. 173 was also at the RPM redline BYW. The Miura S was reported to be god awful noisy in the higher RPM’s. Sounded like someone cutting a block of aluminum with a chain saw at full speed. Mandurath
Insurance companies are trying to get access to this info. Interesting arguements about this stuff. I know that the little box in my semi tells everything. Every shift, how long I was in each gear, the rpm I shifted at, idle time, anything you can think of.
