SevenHeaven
Often one sees a Seven, in 'typical lotus' painted BRG and yellow... such as BRG and a yellow nose, or yellow stripe... (I know there are several shades of BRG...) BUT WHAT is the yellow color? and can you buy that paint anywhere? (like in a spray can even?) Thanks
Ian7
As I understand the 'legend', the first Seven (in BRG) was on its way to a show in London when the nose cone was broken in transit, and the only thing they could find on short notice was a yellow one. Maybe researching that story will lead somewhere.
Boxologist
in true Chapman fashion, i expect the Yellow would have been some leftover interior wallpaint that someone left at the curb to be discarded.
11Budlite
Check out this site for some paint codes. Ironic that the listing for "Lotus Yellow" is Code L07... http://www.mikecauser.com/lotus/parts/paint_codes.html Bruce :7drive:
scannon
According to Peter Egan in his column in the December issue of R&T the proper BRG and Lotus yellow is John Deere green and yellow, available by the gallon at your favorite farm implement store.
soareyes
If I ever have my BRG Birkin repainted (and it needs it now), I'm going with the yellow used on newer Corvettes. Hopefully it would look as good on a Seven as on a Vette.

If you look AT one pict of my car in "member rides" (with top up) you can just see two John Deer implements, my haybine, and round baler. http://www.usa7s.net/ASPNETFORUM/DEFAULT.ASPX?g=posts&t=3108 I never noticed the similar greens.. but later today, if the sun comes out, I'll get the big ole John Deer tractor out and do a side by side photo shoot! (its kinda faded however) Perhaps it will turn out, that it's toys with green paint, that I'm addicted to, not the marque, the legend and the culture.
