Deman SR27
Well hello again everybody, its been a long time since our last post Here is an update of the Deman SR27. It is now pushing 18psi and producing 365hp and 302lb/tq. All this was achieved by installing a 38mm Tial external wastegate, Apexi NEO SAFC, and a nice tune on the mustang dyno We made the dump for the wastegate resemble the exhaust here are some pics http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g285/Grkmf3/1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g285/Grkmf3/IMG_5256-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g285/Grkmf3/IMG_5258-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g285/Grkmf3/IMG_5250-1.jpg

Torqueman
Nice!! Looks like a Japanese engine? Lot of power from 18 psi. What is the spec of the engine?
scannon
Sweet numbers, great workmanship. What kind of sound does that wastegate make when it opens? Loud enough to draw the cops?
Deman SR27
Yes, that is a Nissan SR20DET from Japan. Its out of a Nissan Silvia. The wastegate is loud enought to turn heads 2 blocks away. It has a very nice tone to it, and only gets loud when your on it, which means it loud all the time Here is the dyno video of the SR27 @ 15psi. http://www.spracingonline.com/videos/dino.wmv http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g285/Grkmf3/24-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g285/Grkmf3/25.jpg
jlumba81
Do you guys have a website? What kind of mileage does the SR27 get and what's the size of the gas tank?
Deman SR27
it is an 8 gallon fuel tank, and we get anywhere between 15-20mpg. Its about 120-160 miles per tank and this in on 18psi. It all depends on how your driving.

BobDrye
Paul: You need a bigger inducer. 59mm @ 24 lbs.
Deman SR27
How well does that big boy start boosting Our GT28 starts to spool at 1800 After bringing in a 10.86 at the track, we decided to stick with this size We were thinking about doing a 30, but not yet
BobDrye
Above 3500 you just yank the shifter every second or so. Mazda has more hp, he just won't admit it.
Deman SR27
what numbers are you putting down at 24lbs
BobDrye
what numbers are you putting down at 24lbs I've never had it on a dyno. The onboard data logging numbers reflect something north of 500.
Deman SR27
thats alot of power, but can it put it down
BobDrye
If you make sure that the car is planted before you apply full boost there is not much wheel spin in 2nd and up. If you shift hard or are not on good pavement it's very easy to blowout the tires. Just because you run a lot of boost doesn't mean that you can use all of it at anytime. People always talk about turbo lag, but I find that if you're not satisfied with the rate of acceleration just shift to a lower gear.
