Al N.
My older daughter fell ill (nothing too critical) over the weekend, so I flew back from LOG29/USA7s meet yesterday morning, earlier than planned. I wanted to express my overwhelming thanks to outgoing USA7s president John Viviani for his hospitality to me and all the other USA7s Club members throughout the weekend. The "backstage" tour he gave us on Friday — including a drive around the stunning Barber circuit complete with his track commentary — was truly special. I know John put a lot of work into getting that kind of access for the USA7ers who came to LOG, so I'm glad that he was able to get behind the wheel of the Barber collection's polished ali XI on Saturday for a few laps of fun. Thanks again, John!
solder_guy
My older daughter fell ill I hope everything is ok with her now ... Again John made the weekend extra special to all of us who were visiting ... His tour of underground Barber was great! They can make and do everything there .. except paint the cars .. due to building design .. .. although it is his job to work at the Barber .. (ho-hum) .. He got the Lotus XI running around the track .. just another day at his day job .. He did mention that one of the mechanics tweaked something .. and the XI is running better than ever! I just dropped my jaw when I saw it out! THANKS JOHN! Plus John's girlfriend is a hoot and kept us laughing the whole time. BTW: I think I visited that Museum for a total of 6 hours all weekend. I had to keep going back to look at more and more. Rob
Al N.
Also big thanks to Tom G. and his cousin John, who let me tag around with them for the days I was there! Lots of laughs, and a reminder why political discussions shouldn't be a part of the club (online or off!)... ;-P Have a safe trip back, fellas! Taber10
I also would like to thank John for his help in organizing the Barber Museum Tour, and for his participation in LOG29 in general. While I'm at it, thanks to John's friend Diana, who helped with the Birmingham British Sports Car Club's "Sports Cars in the Park" and helped "guide" us on the first stage of Sunday's drive. Joan and I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and seeing the cars that were there, and discussing some of the cars that weren't there! Taber
Guest speedcraft
John, Al, all that helped and participated, this was my first USA7s event and was one of the best car related events i've been at. The behind the scenes tour and albeit short run on the track [until the water pump gave out] will always be remembered....thanks !
yellowss7
Just got back to the hotel from today's track day. It was the first time I've done one and it sure won't be the last. My cousin John and I had a blast. Met lots of great USA7s people and even a few nice Lotus ones as well. I pass everyone's thanks on to John and his girlfriend as I just spoke with them and we are going to go out to dinner in about an hour. I was so hyped up for today's event that I forgot to turn on my video camera for a couple of the heats. Hopefully the ones I remembered to turn it on for will come out oK. My cousin said I looked slow out there. Sure as heck didn't feel real slow. My left clam was vibrating widely on the highspeed straights. It looked like it was trying to fly, but it held. I hear that next year's Log will be at Gettysburg Pa. and the track day at Summit point. Tom Tom

rich
The weekend truly exceeded my expectations. - Dozens of fantastic cars. - A few laps around Talladega (30 degree banking, a new respect for the NASCAR group). - John's tour of Barber. Thank You John!
sparecr
Let me thank everyone who came to Birmingham for the event. I feel I did little to make this the great event everyone here tells me it was. It was all of you who came down and took part that really made this event the true sucess it was. I am really hoping to see everyone again in Gettysburg or Carlisle or.... soon

yellowss7
I'm still smiling Dean. I don't want to look at my in car video yet because I don't want to see how slow I really was. My brain thinks I was really flying. I do think I might have a shot of you on the track coming down the front straight. I'll watch it tomorrow and post it if it looks good. I think I have one of Drew on the straight as well. Oh, and Dean, thanks again for the loan of the arm restraints. Tom

Janet and I enjoyed meeting all of the USA7's group and look forward to the next blat! Thanks again, janet & drew... pksurveyor
A big thanks to John and Diane for organizing the event. We just got home after 3,000 miles of driving. We drove the Tail of the Dragon, what an experience even though we were in a Landcruiser. A great bunch of car lovers.
