Well my 7 is still for sale but I bought something yesterday

Well my 7 is still for sale but I bought something yesterday as I just could not pass it up for the price and my wife was the one who pointed it out to me so I figured she would not be that upset with me so I bought it. Should be fun and something for me to tinker with and it can sit outside without any concern.

I know it is not a Caymen but it will due until I find a buyer for the 7 and yes the rear window needs to be replaced but it is a convertable and the top will be down most of the time. It is a one owner Miata that was a friend of my wifes and it has been taken care of and serviced on a regular basis and it was under 2K even after registering it here in California. Only draw back is it is Black but has Tan leather interior so I can live with that for the time being. :driving:

Good work! After my Se7en, my next favorite car was my Miata. An '94 R package that I bought new and drove for 10 years. As I recall, there are a lot of former/current Miata owners on this site.

That's a smokin deal for a '93 Black and Tan. A fairly rare combination. It makes a great daily driver and is still fun in the twisties. Be careful, upgraditis is about as strong in Miatas as in Se7ens. Don't ask how I know...

 

You should be able to get a good sew in rear window installed for around $200.

 

You might want to wait a bit before buying the Porsche. I know many people who sold their Porsches after buying a mere Miata for a "2nd car". They all found that the Porsche sat in the garage for months at a time while they used the Miata for a daily driver, track toy and all around driver.

Well just went for a ride up one of the roads that I like a lot and I think I am smiling just as much as I smile when I am driving the 7. What can I say but I like the fact that it is 90 degrees and about 90% humidity and the AC works great. Had to try all the accoutrements that the car offers so I started out with the Top up and then the back window unzipped and then the top down and then the top up and the AC on and all is good for a 1996 Mazda Miata. Found out one thing that I had forgotten about black cars and that the door sills get hot and when you put your arm on it going down the road it wakes you up...well makes you pay attention as it gets quite warm.

I can see now that a new set of tires are going to be in line soon as after looking at these they are ok but they are about 5 yrs old and seem to be a hard compound and happen to be a M/S tread and I don't think I will see much mud and snow here in Ventura, CA. unless the climate really takes a big swing sometime soon . My wife has not driven the Miata yet and I do not think I am going to push her to as I think I will lose it to her if she dose drive it as it is just that nice especially with the top down but maybe that might be a plus for me to get the Caymen sooner. :rofl:

My daughter is a senior this year and she drives my 67 Chev truck to school. But next year I plan on getting her a miata to drive to college (a little further drive). I like the fact that you can find one in just about any price range.

I bought a used '99 last October that only had 33K miles. It is nearly showroom condition and have less that $5K in it. We drive it as much or more as the Se7en.

 

Heater, radio, convertible and AC....Can't beat it..!!!! They are about as bullet proof as you can get and still takes a thrashing with ease.
