Seems a little to good to be true..doesn't it?

IF it is an original TWIN-CAM S3, it should be one out of only about 13 made, and on top of that...left hand drive?.. I'm not sure, but I don't recall any of the original TWIN-CAM S3's to have left the factory as a LHD

But IS this true, then the price is maybe just on the high side, but surely they should be expensive, because they are extremly rare.

I'm quite sure that it has been for sale for quite some time now..think I've seen it before on another webpage.

Agree, no LHD versions of the "thirteen" twincams, but I don't read his advert as suggesting it is. Original 13 had a 1558cc engine, this sounds to be a standard Kent with a twincam conversion (very popular, very easy) dropped in to an appropriate year chassis.

Still nice, but still way too $$$$$$$$ for what it "isn't".

my $0.02

After I have read the add again, I Agree, it doesn't say its original Twin Cam.

Must admit that I thought that when I saw the price:eek: geezz way to much.

Does anyone know if there are any of the original 13 twin cams left, and how many, and where they are today??

There was one LHD S3 fitted with a twincam, but it was sent to Argentina (may have been the chassis only). That car now resides in California, and this ebay car is not *that* car.

Here is a photo of the Twincam installation in that LHD S3

Thanks for that!:)

Since it is from argentina..Isn't that one of the South American Sevens (as you said the chassis may have been the only one sold to south america)? They build Sevens on a liscense? (as one stated in another thread yesterday?)

While technically a twin cam motor, that is not a "Twincam", that is a Lotus 900 series motor (904/907/912) from a Lotus Eclat/Elite/Esprit and Jensen-Healey

Well, yeah, if you want to get technical Morgan ;) This car is owned by the former Argentinian Lotus licensee.

Just clarifying because it appeared you were suggesting that it was a LHD version of the 13 factory Twincams... http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif;)

Apparently, quite a few Lotus S3 Sevens were converted to TC's after the fact
