JeffC
Gorgeous car. Why did you decide to change from clams to cycle fenders? Also, how may miles are on the chassis & engine? Edited September 7, 2009 by JeffC
DeanG
Very nice color combination. Good luck.
geewiz1
There are 14,500 miles or there abouts on the speedo - thats the rebuilt engine and the chassis. In 2006 I had the car car stripped down to the frame and new left and right skins, frame was blasted and powder coated better than new. Thats when I swiched to 2.0 liter Zetec (was 1.8) and went to cycle wings - was 2.5 seconds faster after that on a 2.0 mile track. Front end went very light when I got over 100 mph and would drift about to much with the clams. Graeme
atypicalguy
Hello, Just poking around for a used caterham and it occurred to me that some of the engines may not be legal for use in California. Does anyone know if this particular configuration would pass CARB emissions inspection? If not, what sort of engines are California Sevens running? I know there are Seven drivers in my area so I'm hoping someone local will chime in. Thanks, Karl in LA

Mondo
If it's registered as a pre-74 (or 76 can't remember) your in the clear and just go to the counter as any other car of that era... no smog. I don't know if they'll (DMV) want to actually see your car. I bought a 2005 G35 coupe from Texas and they wanted to confirm the VIN number. Otherwise you'll have to go the SB100 route (plenty of info if you "search")
