Reason
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Geran and I currently don't own a "7". I am looking for a Locost to build or buy but I can't decide which one to get. My options are a Westfield Megabusa or a AeroRace (with some modifications). I am looking to use this vehicle for HPDEs, Time Trials, Hillclmibs and AutoXs (if there is time). Hopefully I get to know a good amount of knowledge from this board before making a purchase and maybe make some new friends. That is all for now but I will surely be back to do A LOT of research. Mondo
Welcome, It's always a fun time trying to decide what to buy (or build). There's a good contingent of 7 owners in your neck of the woods and they're sure to chime in soon. Good luck!

Reason
Geran, Where in Northern VA are you located? I'm in Fairfax Station & have a Super Stalker. Gary Gary, I currently live in Sterling, VA. I was looking at the Super Stalker but considered the weight to be more than I wanted in a fun track car. I would love to get a ride in yours and maybe that would change my mind. -Geran
Taber10
MHKFlyer, I just had the opportunity to go through the pictures in your build log, and it NEARLY convinced me to buy your car myself! Really impressive the time and effort you put into the construction, not to mention the documenting itself. All of it looks great. Taber

If nothing else, who wouldn't want a free ride in a seven? More than just the performance, you want to make sure the car is roomy enough in all dimensions. If the Stalker is too heavy for you, my car won't do... 1750 lb V8 powered semi-home brew There is a good variety of Stalker, Ultralite, Caterham and Birkin around - and all of those owners autocross their cars, and most do hpde days as well. And if you get something before hand, we will have something new to , sit in, stare at, and get a ride in. Good luck !!

andrew7
Hi Geran, Welcome to the site. Years ago I talked with a guy from Pittsburgh who built his 2nd seven and he convinced me to go with a motorcycle engine. Last month he called to say he was selling his, its been sitting the last couple years. He was the instructor who gave Jeff Underwood a ride and convinced Jeff to go BEC also. His name is Paul Petrun, 412-974-5695 http://www.flickr.com/photos/44365211@N02/sets/72157622615937015/show/with/4077680225/ He built it as a track/autox car. I don't know much about it but maybe close to what you want.

Reason
Yep, that's it. I didn't know it was advertised, he gave me a picture link. He has it posted on RacingJunk and the SCCA classifieds. I've seriously thought about that car A LOT! There were a few things I didn't want that were on it like the paddle shifters and not knowing if I could use other body panels like from Fluke Motorsports. fnmag58
Hi Geran, I'm not to far away from you--live here in Stafford, VA. I have a restored 1982 Caterham with a Super Sprint Xflow that you can come and look at at any time. Car is not for sale, but can give you a lot of lessons learned, feedback, ride and drive, etc. You should also try to contact Bob Drye--he's in Springfield and take a look at his car--i think the supercharger is bigger than the engine!!!! In the Northern VA area, there are a few of us that make a great support group.
