Forgot to list in my original post, but I have the dash and guages also available from the 79 Caterham. It is a right hand drive dash with Autometer 7000 rpm tach, Smiths speedometer, and Stewart Warner ammeter, water temp, and oil pressure guages. Also includes miscellaneous switches including keyed starter. $200 for all. Craig

Craig, I'll buy the windscreen, and the clams. On a previous post you mentioned a set of rear wings as well. If Those are available I'll take them too. What the heck, i'll take the tonneau as well.

I'll call you today to complete the transaction,

Thanks.

Tom

  • 3 weeks later...

Michael, I did not get the clams. Beirut is a nice city. I just returned from Byblos (a 7,000 years old city in Lebanon) this afternoon. It was a fun visit with a great seafood lunch. I am here on a water resources engineering job for two weeks. Tom

I know. I just got off the phone with Craig. I bought the extra doors to turn into half doors. I also suggested that he bubble wrap the clams and ship them in a box from a hot water heater.

Glad all is well maybe you will join us at Summit point or give me advance notice as to when you will be at the NJ track. I would love to try that track someday.

I still use my 7 as my daily driver as well as Autocross, Track days and Time Trials. The half doors are for whenever I do not have a full windshield in place. That is when I have a 6" windscreen in place.

Michael - My understanding from your earlier post was that you had purchased a set of full doors, and that you were going to convert them into half doors.

If you're going to do the conversion by slicing the doors in two horizontally, I'm interested in the top half of the door - the part that you are cutting off and not using as a half door - if the window and hinge attachments are still intact. In other words, if you can put the top half of the door on the hinges, and the window portion of the door is still there. I'm assuming you will cut them off where they fold in half.
