scannon
1,900 HP at 41 psi boost will do that if you have something aerodynamic like a Ford GT. http://www.heffnersperformance.com/miami_hofman_mile.htm
slngsht
truly impressive.
7evin
I don't think WOW can even begin to express that..... I hope we will have Mojito finished and tested by this falls Texas mile. I would really like to see what she can do before I leave. One thing I am quite confident of is that we will not keep up with that thing.

Are you still going for 600 whp? I'm assuming with that much power and the right gearing you could probably get within spitting distance of 200. slngsht
supposedly this GT makes 1900 HP. Shock and Awe.
scannon
supposedly this GT makes 1900 HP. Shock and Awe. It has made 2,200 hp but they detuned it a bit for the standing mile run for reliability.
MHKflyer52
I wounder what the fuel burn was for that run. Very impressive what money and engineering can do.

I'm assuming with that much power and the right gearing you could probably get within spitting distance of 200. I think I have Kenny talked into coming down with us. So we will tune for 600 and see what she does. We will have several different tunes available from mild to WARP Factor XX... I have a chassis guy looking at our suspension setup to see what changes we might need to make to try and get more power to the ground. Then we will take it to the drag strip and see what gives. We are also making some aero changes to make her a little slicker Wish we could make it as slippery as that GT.... Here is a pretty informative web site for chassis setup. http://www.racelinecentral.com/RacingSetupGuide.html Edited May 5, 2010 by 7evin
Mondo
With that much power, what do you think about some kind of traction control system? Like this perhaps: http://www.racelogic.co.uk/

Mondo
"self preservation" & a 600hp 7 don't go together;)

7evin
Mondo, I have looked at the traction control systems and ABS systems for the car. There is something about Raw car that I really like. It makes the driver get connected with the car and the track.... its like doing the tango naked.... I have to say when we rented the Corvette to do the Fireball Run it was amazing with all the on-board systems it just about drove its self around the track, Fun and Fast but not Raw. Would Mojito be faster with the extra systems? probably. Will I add them to her eventually? I most likely will have to at some point. I just don't know that my skill level as a driver will leave me with any other options.... RNR: (A sensitive right foot and a basic sense of self preservation should suffice) Here's where I have always come up a little short, I am always just a little to heavy with the right foot and if I had any sense I would surely be investing my time and money somewhere else.... Not trying to paddle upstream with a toothpick.. But there is nothing like a good challenge. We don't have 7's because we have sense or are sensitive kind of guys, We love the thrill of life and Raw cars. Skip: Isn't that why they invented forced induction to start with ? Of all people I know you understand this.... 41 lbs of boost @ 1900 hp..... Hummmm... Thats probably too much... or is it? Mondo
Understood... just thinking with all that power, in a straight line, it would be hard to get the quickest time without a little help. Probably should have a seperate class for "no driver assist" to identify the fast cars from fast drivers.
scannon
Mondo, Skip: Isn't that why they invented forced induction to start with ? Of all people I know you understand this.... 41 lbs of boost @ 1900 hp..... Hummmm... Thats probably too much... or is it? Well, they did de-tune it from 2,200 HP for this run. I think this approaches the limit on the "Too much horsepower is just about right" saying.
