11Budlite Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 For the kid who has everything: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300423783329&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#v4-37
Mondo Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 As small as a normal 7 is, you'd think someone would build a 3/2 scale;)
scannon Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 You think it is worth that kind of money? 13 bidders seem to think so. It's at $4,000 right now with a little less than 2 days to go. It will be interesting to see what it sells for. A member of LOCO (Lotus Colorado) has a similar one with the engine in the boot but it has working A arm suspension in the front and leaf springs in the rear. He said a year or two ago he wouldn't sell it for less than $6k.
MoPho Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Hmm..... Yeah, I have been collecting pictures (only found a few so far) of that one in Colorado, been thinking I would try and build one someday for the little tike when he gets older, but this one is pretty nice. It doesn't have the trick suspension but appears to be better finished, especially in the interior (?) Have seen some replica 2/3 type cars go for really big bucks, so perhaps this ain't so crazy Thanks
slngsht Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 hmmm. I think it's worth more than 4K. I wonder if the 550 is for sale too.
MoPho Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 The 550 is amazing too http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-550-Spyder-Porsche-550-Spyder_W0QQitemZ300423790453QQihZ020QQcategoryZ6058QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ht_512wt_1167
MHKflyer52 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Yep that is very cool. I wounder if it is going to sale.
scannon Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Yep that is very cool. I wounder if it is going to sale. There is no reserve showing so someone will own it for at least $4,000.
Jim F. Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I think it needs a larger steering wheel......doesn't quite fill the whole driver's area.
manik Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Something similar out of Vietnam. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2285/2274048032_f2ef239a75_d.jpg
MoPho Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Got out bid by $5 :banghead: First time using eBay, I don't understand how someone can swoop in and add $5 at the last second when the maximum bid is supposed to be confidential :bs: .

manik Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 You won the Porsche anyway... Looks like the high bidder on the Lotus actually had a maximum bid of 5,005.05. as that bid increment is smaller than the normal ebay minimum bid increase. Sorry Morgan, you really did *just* miss out on it. Got out bid by $5 :banghead: First time using eBay, I don't understand how someone can swoop in and add $5 at the last second when the maximum bid is supposed to be confidential :bs: .
MoPho Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Ha!! But I wanted the Seven more Well at least the ankle biter will ride in style with his first car, a Porsche is better than what I started with He's got a little time to learn how to drive though http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs550.snc3/30129_394085668900_842533900_3930482_5361249_n.jpg Strange that there wasn't more action on the Porsche, figured that would have been more popular. My father is in the antiques and collectables business, so figured these would be a good investment Thanks for posting this Bruce, I don't spend any time on eBay, so never would have seen this. .
11Budlite Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 Congrats Morgan, glad to help! I was a little surprised the Porsche didn't go for more as well. Hopefully you'll provide us with a nice shot of your son sitting in his new "toy" at some point?
