Excellent news. I called in the calvery to save the day. Steve at SBD was most helpful. For just 95 GBP they spent an hour training my shop on the MBE ECU and gave us the code to unlock the software completely. We were able to re-assign the pins and got the fan to work just fine as well as learning how to modify the map if we needed to. The car is running good on the Cosworth USA supplied map. So, we are off to the Dyno tomorrow for some fine tuning!

I look forward to seeing the dyno sheets, after this months long build up! I hope you beat 220 hp:). Photos of the completed car/engine bay would be nice too:)!

So, here was the elusive problem with the Cosworth loom. We had the coil loom hooked up backwards YIKES!!! Anyway, that does not explain why no power to the relays. So it looks like a combination of issues were going on. We are putting a new Cosworth loom (they were good enough to get me a new one) today and hopefully the relays & fans work.

For the good news, the wheel HP averaged about 210 on a Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer (they calculate a 28% loss with this machine). This would translate to engine brake HP of 290 HP, but that may be somewhat optomistic. Cosworth rates this setup at 280 engine brake HP.

The most important thing is the motor sounds scary cool...

Here is the coil loom on backwards:

A photo from Cosworth of the correct installation (would have been nice to get this photo or the wiring chart while we were having all the problems)

Here is the Duratec connected to the engine loom (no separate coil sub-loom)
