bball7754
I'm looking for a waterproof single wire connector that won't require that I spend $100 on a crimper. Any suggestions? Thanks. Steve

bball7754
Mike - Thanks. Have you used them? I need to take the connection apart about once a year - can't tell how well they would support that type of use. Steve
Sean
A little self-fusing silicone tape will make any connector waterproof, and because it is not really tape (no adhesive - just bonds to itself only), it comes off cleanly. Sold under a variety of names; Lots of uses. I carry a roll in my car. A bit expensive, but very useful. Seen it at Home Depot, among other places, but a more reasonable price here: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/2725/Motorcycle_Supplies

They are very durable and can be unfastened and refastened multiple times. Mike
WestTexasS2K
Weather pack connectors can be done with a standard crimped I also use solder to completely secure they work great if you have 2-5 wires per connector.

dallasdude
The other suggestions are good but if you want to invest in a dedicated tool to do Weatherpack/Metripack/open barrel connectors this is a good tool at a reasonable price. At least a lot less than a hundred bucks. http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/111_112_170/products_id/362 I've used the posi-lock connectors also and they work well. solder_guy
I have a *heavy* crimper that I bought at Harbor Freight for $3. And I use electrical grease inside all my connections (big tube of the stuff $8 at NAPA.) Rob
