Went with a R1 powered RHD variant this time. Probably will be autox / track only, but who knows...

Wow Mazda,

Where did you find the new frame.....

Looks like you will be driving from the right side or should I say the wrong side :smilielol5:

What has happened to Frankn7....or will you keep it alive with this frame.

Frankn7 is in Arya's hands now. He will fix/mod as needed and get that beast on the road.

The frame is from a UK '85 Cat. Yes, it'll be a RHD car. Not sure if this will be on the road... maybe, maybe not.

Some photos for ideas from blatchat.

I am impressed at the packaging that is possible. Look how far back the engine was positioned. The light weight of 360 odd kilos is also pretty eye opening. However I suspect yours will not be as polished as this one (where's the windex! :jester:)

Should be under 900 lbs as my car is well under 1000 lbs with a BMC-A engine and half a tank of gas.

Of course it is easy to add weight. A fire system / fire extinguisher, gel seat, or even a billet shift knob can add up.

Will you be using the honeycomb crash panels?

Cool...glad to know that Frankn7 will be alive again at some point even if it becomes an off-road monster.....

:toetap05:

I'm trying to restrain myself. It may be setup with suspension positions for more ground clearance for gravel road touring, but that's as much offroad as I plan on doing.

"The car really is set up as a driver-only car... so battery and gas tank can occupy where the passenger would normally be. With engine and gas tank so close to the center of the car, this thing should be pretty good at changing direction".

You didn't learn?

Light weight brakes and light weight wheels and tires. That along with the bike drive, it should be a screamer.
