blubarisax
My speedo was acting erratically until I moved the sensor in closer on my rear wheel. The needle would bounce up and down and the odometer was under reading by 50-70%. Now the needle is working smoothly and the odometer seems OK, but when I get over 100 mph it just stops reading altogether and the needle drops to zero until I slow down. Any ideas? yellowss7
What the heck are you doing looking down at the speedo at over 100mph. :ack::willy_nilly: Tom
RossD
You're too close with the sensor now and at the higher speed, it can't 'see' the difference between the highs and lows as well as it can at low speeds. Then the signal get interpreted at a going 0 mph. Or....the angular velocity of the wheel sensor and/or tooth count got past the limits of sampling the speedo does to calculate speed. Can you change the toothed part at the wheel?
blubarisax
Good point Tom... My DE instructor mentioned it. Thanks for the tip Ross. I had set it in as close as I could to cure the erratic behavior I started with.

I didn't want anyone to see the panic in my eyes while I'm driving.:jester::jester: 11 days to go. I am soooo looking forward to this gathering. The smack talk will be at a fever pitch in a few more days.:lurk: We need to find one more 7 to step up and join us on the track to make it an even 10 Croc. Who else can we badger into it? Tom Prime candidates: Boxologist Jack VB I think they are scared.... Bryce (Bster) would also be a good option with the Stalker (lovely looking beast). Bruce (11budlite) might be brave enough! Puting aside my cheap shots, I think we have tapped out the market for a weekday event.
yellowss7
Yeah Croc, you're probably right. Box wouldn't understand the concept of turn in and apex cones. He'd probably just aim for them like he usually does. :seeya: And Jack probably knows that Yellow Caterhams are just plain too slow for the track.:bs: either that or his wife won't let him come out and play. As for a weekday being an issue, I don't understand why that would be a problem. Who wouldn't rather be at a gathering of sevens than at work? Tom
S1Steve
If things go as planned, I will drive down on Monday to see this sideshow. I'll see if i can jam a corvette wheel in the S1 for Mazda and Frankin7. Otherwise I have to bring the Envoy, which would kick all your asses on a snowy track day. LOL Let the trash talk begin !!!!!!! Better bring your A game Tom !!!
