A week at a dog rescue shelter Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam (I have spent sometime their and I would like to go bad someday to visit) South America, Antarctica to go swimming (I lived in McMurdo Station and Dome Charle (South Pole Station) for three seasons while attached to the NSFA in the late 80's) and Africa. So how do you and your wife plan on getting to be on the first space flight to a neighboring planet.....just kidding as I feel if the two of you wanted to do that you would figure it out some how. Thanks for the travel log and photos as S1Steve said their are a lot of great photos to see and a lot to read about your travels. Greatly appreciated that someone would take the time out to read it. Vietnam was absolutely our favorite country that we visited, the people, the culture, the food...all 10 stars for us. Antarctica was just unbelievable, that is so so so cool that you spent time down there! My wife and I want to know if it's true that Palmer station has a hot tub? lol We heard rumors from the girls at Port Lockroy. We are stuck in a bit of a boring bit now, so not many updates but in the next 2-3 months we'll be making a drive up to Prince Edward Island and then the big, winding 6 week drive across country before reaching the west. Car has to sell first though! Really, Steve and Martin thank you again for showing interest in our blog. I have lived in what seems like most countries in Asia so really enjoyed the write up and the humor on differences to life here in the USA. One thing to do while you are young enough before your knees get old is hike through the Himalayas. It is the type of thing you both would enjoy. One of the best series of trips I ever did - the scenery and people are unbeatable. Everything else you can still do when you are an old fart (like me!). I was a little disappointed you did not do the base jump off Petronas Towers in KL....now that was a highlight for me - only time I have ever base jumped. It's funny, a few times during the trip I was really clamoring to be back home, now that we are here, boy do I miss travel. The last 2 weeks we realized it would be ending soon and ugh, definitely had some doubts as to cancelling flights or not. Nepal was actually my "number 1" spot to hit on my list and we went 3 years ago. We spent 2 weeks in the country and did a 5 day hike/camp through the Annapurna range. Still one of my favorite countries ever. The people were absolutely fantastic, the culture shock was second to none. I thought for a second you were joking about the Petronas BASE jump, according to google this is a yearly event?! Get outta town. Do you have any pics/vids from your jump? How was it? I've only ever been skydiving (dying to go again though) and I asked the skydiving instructors if they had ever done any BASE jumps, their reply? Or my favorite the Rowaling valley alongside the border with Tibet through to the Khumbu (Everest) region was 4-5 weeks of trekkiing on foot. I do have the photos of this in NYC. Not sure where my photos are of my only base jump - probably in one of my storage units in Sydney, Singapore and Frankfurt. One day I will bother to go and clean them out and throw away the rubbish I have saved over the years. I still do 2-3 skydives a year to keep my license current. I would have loved to explore more, it was such a great experience. Talking to you guys about this is not good, I want to start looking at flight deals to the middle of no where now...:banghead: Walk the Camino de Satniago in northern Spain. Ironically, after all the travel we did to Indiana Jones type places, I've never really been to Europe. Well, Turkey but that doesn't really count.
