twobone Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 If I was filthy rich, I'd build a 1500 HP 42 litre aero engined monster like this Packard Bentley.....just because I could. .....in addition to giving away lots of money to charity of course Packard-Bentley Road Test on Vimeo
MHKflyer52 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Jay Leno has something like that and every once in a while he drives it to the different events but it is modern in terms of age. Here is a link to it. http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/photos/blastolenes-pissd-off-pete/3777/#item=87280
Sean Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 After becoming the world's first trillionaire, I plan to build the world's first front-engined rocket sled. In fact, I have already composed a short list of potential test pilots.

Jim F. Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) If interested, Google "blastolene. com" and take a look at what they have produced and are working on. Blastolene is based here in Grants Pass, OR and Randy Grubb ("Randy G" of this forum) is a principal member of the "family" .....he campaigns a Birkin/Dunnell xcross car and is on the top of the game. Real down to earth guy ! Pretty neat website....check it out. Randy built the Blastolene Special which he sold to Jay Leno and became the "tank car" as shown in Jay Leno's Garage website. rnr Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 If I ever get FU money I'd go to Lotus Engineering and have them build me 2 cars 1) A modern version of the Seven using modern engineering tech to update the car and still remain kit car street legal 2) An updated version of Jim Clarks Lotus 25 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_25) with a chevy V8

Love his cars, spent a bit of time checking out the "Tank Car" when I was at Jays garage, it's amazing. Jay has done a lot of work to it including adding twin turbos to it which he says is to "improve gas mileage" I think these two are my favorite so far http://www.blastolene.com/B702/images/760.jpg http://www.blastolene.com/images2/deco/100_1986.jpg
JohnK Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 While this might suggest a poverty of imagination, I'd just buy a Ferrari 458 Italia and spend the rest of my life learning how to drive it well. .... and so that I'd have a place to do that, I'd buy Bridgehampton (It's in such a nice neighborhood).
MoPho Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 With FU money I wouldn't waste my time with road cars http://www.mjswebgallery.com/rally_2002-06/images/2004-189.jpg
Fimi 7 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hey, you still have to drive happy to the track

WestTexasS2K Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I love the Blastoene stuff. I want to build a Blastolene style 7.
Jim F. Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I'm sort of curious myself if Randy has contemplated building a Blastolene 7 with some outrageous powerplant. Could call or email him for a response, as he does have a Birkin, after all..

Could call or email him for a response, as he does have a Birkin, after all.. I met Randy at a GGLC track day and he said that the Seven was something he built for his dad who was also at the event. Randy was driving a GT40 replica himself.
squarefour Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I would very much like to see a Blasto7 with three inline 'busa motors.
DeanG Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 At one time I calculated the Bill Gates could buy Lotus. The company, the Team Lotus name and every car Lotus car ever built and still have money left over for a nice road trip.
Hank Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Hmm... I would see about purchasing Catherine Zeta Jones. http://www.tvpredictions.com/joneshd.jpg If she wasn't on the market I would contact Chip Foose and get him to build the perfect 7 for me. My redneck side would kick in and the end result would probably be a 1000 HP all-wheel drive monster, but it would at least look Sevenish. http://www.supercars.net/carpics/3618/2007_Foose_Hemisfear1.jpg I'd buy a Buffalo Mine Protected Vehicle to drive around town in. http://www.treehugger.com/buffalo-mine-protected-vehicle-01.jpg Oh and I'd buy something to tool around in on the weekends. (1500 HP TT Lambo) http://www.motormavens.com/emAlbum/albums/Contributors/James%20Evins/Events/Underground%20Racing%20Lamborghini/_fullsize/Underground_Racing_Lamborghini_Charlotte_Texas_Mile_Top_Speed_Shop_Turbo_8734.jpg
WestTexasS2K Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Hank you have to watch those TT Lamborghinis they flip end over end at 242 mph when the chute is mounted incorrectly.
