rikker Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 (edited) Am I the only one that thinks this looks a bit "Dune Buggy"? I think this is the (cosmetic) Achilles heal on this car, just looks so odd sometimes while all else looks so right, was there are a reason back then? Anyone know of a lowered lip rear wing to hide the gap>? Edited March 28, 2012 by rikker
Croc Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Its about right by the time you load up the average doofus seven owner who is 40-60, balding, 200-250+ pounds and a fat wallet as the car will settle down on its rear springs quite nicely and the gap looks normal. At least thats how the cars look when driving. The alternative really does not bear thinking about. I dont think I would want to drive around in a car with a rear end that looks like a dog with worms dragging its bum along the ground.
slngsht Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 hmmm... cycle fenders for the rear would fix that
pi7ot Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Lol. I've always associated the worm infested Fleabag stance with front wheel drive cars. I'm going to try a shorter spring to reduce rear arch gap as long as it does not negatively impact the handling. m

Doofus or worse, CHECK, 53 years old,CHECK, 242lb, CHECK, balding, CHECK,empty wallet, can't have everything.... LOL
63Locost Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Just mount your rear fenders/wheel arches lower.
blubarisax Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Just stuff fatter tires in there, I like Michelin 24/57-13s from the Formula Renault. (Join the club: 53, 295#, no hair -- but hey, chicks dig me in the Caterham!) Edited March 29, 2012 by blubarisax
RGTorque Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 in most 7's its possible to run a tire that fills the fender better. in my case i use a dampening and height adjustable suspension so i can run the car lower and still maintain a proper firmness without rubbing. here is my car with 18" and 255/45 size tire. it fills out perfect. http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/4540/cimg3072resize.jpg http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/6750/super7.jpg
