ianashdown
Nitto NT01 tires on a Caterham? They look like 'the business' but any feedback would be helpfull Thanks, Ian
ayseven
Aren't they similar to R888's? R888's are on lots of sevens.
rnr
I have NT01s on my Ultralite and they have served me well. Excellent grip and predictability though they are fairly heavy. Very very well priced as well. That said I might go for a narrower set of tires next time as I'd like a little more "tossability" in the car. http://www.rahulnair.net/blog/2010/04/16/setting-up-a-seven-wheels-and-tires/
jimrankin
I'm running the same tires as RNR and can second his rating. Great predictability and for what is a fairly soft grippy tire it seems to wear forever. RNR is a bit more aggressive than I am and his are still just about where mine are, down almost to the wear bars and not showing much in the way of heat cycling out. If anything they seem to be wearing slower as they get to the wear bars. I just did two seperate Laguna Seca track days with 30Min. on 30Min. off track for the whole of both days and don't think they even came close to losing 1/32" tread depth. You won't be outcornering someone on slicks but then you also won't have to up your credit card limit or change tires to drive home.
WestTexasS2K
Ran them on my car. They worked great. They are not rain friendly obviously.

Guest Terry
Nitto NT01 tires on a Caterham? They look like 'the business' but any feedback would be helpfull Thanks, Ian What they look like is irrelveant. The reason that Caterham invested a HUGE amount of money in getting AVON to develop a tire specifically for the Caterham is because most tires don't work with the 7 due to the hard sidewalls. Walk away and buy some CR500's

BUT, CR500's are becoming rather difficult and expensive to get, I am thinking about R888's which are half the price
Guest Terry
I totally agree, the CR500 are not cheep, however why put budget & compromised tyres on a car that only deserves the best.

Well for one, no one seems to have CR500's and I am being told it could be two months or more. I need tires now
Croc
Hi Morgan - Try Roger Krause over on your side of the continent. They had some standard 15 inch wheel tires in stock (my fronts) so I got 2 CR500s from there. I am told they have the best stock in the US of anyone. I picked up the rears from ringing Avon Racing UK directly and letting rip in a few phone calls up and down the hierarchy. They have stock that they are rationing to make sure the various racing series have rubber. I was told by one Avon UK person the moulds for certain sizes of CR500 was broken recently and they have to remake a mould hence the supply issue. I was also told by another Avon UK person that CR500s will be phased out later this year for a new Avon replacement product. I am not sure I believe that but I do believe Avon are pretty piss poor in managing their business supply chain :bs: It is a real pity as I really do like the CR500 as a tire for the seven. MoPho
Yup, already spoke with RK (been getting tires from them), they have two, I need four and someone may already have dibs on them. They are telling me it will be 6-8 weeks until the next shipment. I am well into the wear bars on mine, so this is a bit of a bummer. I already had to bend the stanchions to clear the 45 series CR500's and I haven't found any other 45 series 15" tire Been thinking about going to 13" wheels which will give me more options (and they are lighter) but Caterham USA hasn't returned the call. :toetap05: Thanks . bball7754
According to their web site AIM has 3 245/60-15 CR500's available, and they are only $150 each. http://www.aimtire.com/typ_category.asp?Unique=41018.5607407407&ObjectID=6682
