US East Coast Sevens NJMP Track Days June 2012

Croc

Recommended Posts

A little long perhaps - in 2 parts - but I wanted to make sure all participants were shown.

Held June 24, 25, and 26 at New Jersey Motorsports Park on both the Lightning and Thunderbolt circuits. This is turning into an annual event with several new guys committing for June 2013. With 15 or so cars we should be able to get our own run group with SCDA - no more slow Corvettes or Mustangs. Hope to see you there in 2013!

Videos can be seen in HD - just select the option.

Great job Croc! How does anyone watch that video and not want one of these cars?

Or, for those who do have one, how do they not head to the nearest track? The video really captures the excitement one of these cars provides in the proper environment.

Especially sharp eye getting my one near big-off:)! I wasn't really waiving to my fans, tho I wld if I had any, I was waiving to corner worker who threw the checkered flag. So natually I lost concentration, forgot to drive, put 2 wheels off and showered the poor driver in the car behind me with dirt, stones, etc.

I am sure Tom will appreciate the soundtrack as it adds an important dimension:).

Very nicely done Croc! Sorry my external mic wasn't working. It was a firmware issue that has since been resolved.

The low mounted shots were great. Were they from the $15 mini spy cam?

It's definately a blast with a bunch of Seven's out there together. Loved seeing the different lines that everyone takes.

Already looking forward to next year. Maybe we can take a look of expanding the event to include a weekend of non track day stuff, like tours/tastings at some local wineries, a trip to the shore or Atlantic City. and if the timing works, the Friday nite cruise nite and car show at the track that allows for cars to be out for parade laps for those that would like to do the track at a nice sunday drive pace with no passing, helmets etc.

The track video is great but it does nothing to show the comraderie and shenanigans that happen at the end of the day and at dinner.

Thanks for putting it together Croc!

It was a very fun time! I will be back.

The wishbone camera was the little MD80 spy cam for $20 off amazon (or was it ebay?).

Mike - Thanks for putting this together, it looks great.

A little over a minute into the first video, there is a blue Seven with a big "151" on the back. Don't remember ever seeing that car, or the Ariel Atom that passed Tom around the 6 minute mark.

Kitcat looked like he could have been driving with one arm and talking on the phone while he waited to get to a passing zone where he could pass me. :)

Hi Steve - Jeff's (Jeffs on here I think) blue zetec was running around with Tom, Michael and myself on the Sunday when you arrived. I included some of that footage along with the Atom that I passed and the Ferarri 458 that blitzed past me on the straight (sounded good though!:bigear:). Jeff was pretty bummed he could not stay and had to go back to work on the Monday unlike us lucky ones who could goof off work :D

I was pretty happy to find video of your Crossflow monstering a Corvette! :D

Mike/Croc - After I posted I thought, hmm.... maybe it was from Sunday. :)

Mike/Kitcat - I think I may need both some driving lessons and a bigger pair to begin to keep up with you. Although I'd be happy to have a BDA. :)

Dont you dare change your car Steve - it is a lovely example of a crossflow and one that was doing fine against the bigger cars. I just think you needed more time on the circuit. Thunderbolt is a difficult circuit first time around. You were fine on Lightning towards the end of the day as you got more comfortable with it. I included examples of you passing other cars so you were definitely not slow.
