That sure is a great commercial.....and lancylad is correct as it did it to me also but also made me laugh and smile with hope that the after life is like that.....oh wait I am living it now.

After owning two corvettes in the early 80’s, I thought about buying another when they brought out the C5. I particularly like the latest version whether hard top or convertible. Maybe if and when I sell the seven I may purchase another.

When I was a kid, we used to walk though the Chevy dealership and look at Corvettes. Have driven them, but never owned one. A nice commercial that should be a reminder to drive what you like while you're still alive!

And for you Dyno chasers Chevy finally published a vid for the small block on the Dyno

The first sports car I saw was a new 1953 Corvette. A salesman brought it by our house hoping to sell one to my father. He didn't buy it but I got a short rideI had no idea that things like Corvettes, MGs, Austin Healeys and such even existed.

A few years later a neighbor bought a 1955 Corvette with the V8 engine. I was entranced with the car and the wonderful sounds it made. Then a few years later another neighbor bought a 1957 Corvette which I got a few rides in.

These experiences had a profound effect on me. I eventually owned three Corvettes, a number of British sports cars and lately many Japanese sports cars. There have been very few years since I got a driver's license that I have not owned some kind of sports car.

I'd love to own a ZO6 or ZR1 but that would require selling the Caterham and that's not happening.

Had a 2004 (last year of the C5) until a year ago. Sold it to buy a CSR. The Corvette is a great performance car for the price, no matter which model you get. It's usable year 'round, has a/c, a sound system, and just about everything else a 7 doesn't have. And I haven't regretted my choice for a second.

Many of the owners of new 'vettes are like the guy in the commercial: an older male (even older than me) finally getting their dream. Tend to drive in the slow lane, afraid to use the right pedal, and like owning the car more than driving it.
