TheDingo8MyBaby Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I love the old FF's. The seller is actually an ex lotus 7 owner, Dan Shivley.
rikker Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 I agree, it is form functional but sensuous too.
TheDingo8MyBaby Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Looks like he's asking for $25k, which seems pretty reasonable based on other lotus 51 sales. I suspect this car will need a "going over" though as it's been essentially sitting as a show car for a while. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/3957665813.html
DeanG Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Nice looking car. I hope it goes to someone who truly appreciates it.
rikker Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) Nice looking car. I hope it goes to someone who truly appreciates it. seems like a fair price too. Love to drive it on the road, any one think it could be done legally....? Edited July 28, 2013 by rikker
Croc Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Here is how they made a Lotus 51 for the road in the UK:http://www.sportscarmarket.com/car-reviews/classic-and-collector-cars/race/2346-1968-lotus-51r Now if that was imported over here I bet it could be registered as an historic in most states. However starting from scratch, all I can say is good luck!

Gherkin Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I saw this car at last month's Sacramento area EuroSunday event, it looked fantastic! It may need a "going over" before any really aggressive track time but it sure was put together and preserved well. It's amazing how much time you can spend looking over something so small...
