The love affair had started some 47 years earlier and 3000 miles east when I was a young lad in the UK. I was taken for a ride in an all polished aluminum Climax engined Lotus 6. That's all it took, the seed was planted. I now look forward to some fun experience swapping here at USA7's.

Paul Hill Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Welcome Andy. Great bunch here full of all kinds of advice, even if you don't want it... Seriously, a wonderful suppprt group. What part of Ontario do you call home? There is Lotus owners group in Ottawa that meets monthly if you are nearby.
AndyB Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Hi Paul I'm from Georgetown on the west end of Toronto. I am a member of the eastern division club and even came to a couple meetings. Each time I was the only guy there with a car resembling a Lotus but they were a fun and friendly group. Perhaps I'll make the trek some Wednesday night this summer.

I believe there are 8-10 Sevens/Caterhams in the group, similar number of Europas, Elans, plus a few each of Esprit, Elise, as well as a smattering of other Lotus models. Yup, quite a diverse and fun group! Although I have not spent time there in quite a while, I do have "some" knowledge of your area...my father was born, raised in Limehouse, had relatives in Acton, Guelph, and Rockwood. Sadly most have passed away now so I don't get there as often as I used to but am overdue for a nostalgic visit. Maybe this summer... Meanwhile, if you seen occasion to be heading east on hwy 401 past exit 750 let me know. We are a mile off the highway and always look forward to trading lies with other sufferers of the dreaded Lotus/Caterham disease!
