wcmgoldie
I know this has been discussed a lot but I wanted to confirm the wheels sizes people ordered that fit right for the team dynamic wheels. Lourn stated 5x100 17x8 e35-38 for the front and 17x9 e42-45 for the rear. Team dynamics sell the 17x8 in both 35 or 38 offset and nothing In between. Which one should I get? The rear I assume I should get 17x9e45 since the only other offset team dynamics makes is 40. I'm using R888 tires 235 and 275 rear. They are 1" wider than my previous Rt 615 and the front is barely clearing my fender bracket in front and flush with fender on the outside. I guess I could take my wheel to a shop and have them measure them but I thought I would ask here. I kind of trust people on here more than the wheel shops around my place. jimrankin
I'll look up my order to confirm but I think they are 38 off set front. I run 235 fronts and they are tight to the fender brackets I made when I had smaller tires on the car. Plenty of stud for a 5MM spacer if you have a problem. I run 275's (E45)on the back and you JUST make it inside the fender lip. Thinking about having mine rolled a bit as under hard track days with a friend aboard I have had them rub a little. You might even think about going with a 255 rear, hard to get heat into the 275's. I think the distributor knows about WCM's using the Wilwood front hubs and the larger bore required. Had to have mine machined out after delivery. Nice wheels and strong for the weight. RNR dropped to, I think, 225 fronts and 255 rears and likes them better than the wider set up. He might be right as it takes me about 5 miles of hard driving to get heat into my wider set, and that's on a really warm day. Won't heat up period on a cold day, makes for some serious skating fun. WestTexasS2K
With a stock engine. I think the 225 front 255 rear is good. We went to 275 when we moved to the 300-400 rwhp in attempt to get the power out of the corner. It is near impossible to get much heat in them on the street. I am 215/245 and they do warm up a little faster than my old 235/275 set. Plus they are quite a bit lighter as well.

jimrankin
Ditto on the can't get heat into the tires on the street. That's five hard miles on a track to get warm into my 235-275 set up, never get much above the ambient temp on the street. I could get the tires on my MINI hot in about 5-6 corners, but they were 205's and about twice the car weight. I pray for hot track days ;-). wcmgoldie
Oh wow I never knew about the heat up issue. That's depressing now that I have a new set of $1000 R888 I'm not sure what to do now. I got the R888 because the Rt615 were sliding everywhere and almost got me killed... Maybe they were just too wide.
wcmgoldie
Is there a huge difference between the 255 and 275 rears to make it worth scrapping my new tires I bought? Maybe I should just run the set up I have for a year and then switch to 255. The wheels are ugly though. Walmart mounted the tired and said. Hey! Some idiot spray painted those wheel and all the paint came off. I was like no ... Thats powder-coat.
rnr
I got the R888 because the Rt615 were sliding everywhere and almost got me killed... Maybe they were just too wide. My car originally came with 235 RT615s all around as well and would slide around everywhere. The 235/275 NT01s were a huge upgrade as they are a true R-compound (like the R888) Is there a huge difference between the 255 and 275 rears to make it worth scrapping my new tires I bought? Its not a giant difference so if it costs more than $100 bucks to switch I would just stick with what you have already bought. For future sets I would suggest the narrow sizes as they are lighter, cheaper and warm-up faster. Also look into the Nitto NT01s as they are the same compound as the R888 but a lot cheaper.
