Fisher Fury project for sale

For sale: Fisher Fury project. Full-bodied, sevenesque kit from the UK (http://www.furysportscars.co.uk) that is close to final completion. Based on the incomparable Sylva Striker, this Jeremy Phillips design would make a fine racer and/or very sporty road car and features a light, rigid steel tube chassis reinforced by aluminum panels under a strong yet lightweight fiberglass body.

The chassis uses primarily English Ford Escort Mk II donor components including an Escort Mk II live axle (4.12 with Quaife ATB differential and alloy diff. carrier) and front uprights and a "quick" steering rack (2.2 ratio) as well as SPAX coilovers at all 4 corners. Brakes are Wilwood Dynalites over drilled rotors all around with mechanical parking brake and a Tilton pedal assembly. Kumho Victoracers (205/50-15) roll on 15x7 Panasport Ultralights.

The engine is a supercharged Toyota 4A-GZE 1.6L featuring oversized TRD valves and headwork from Port Flow Design, Cusco crank pulley for 14 psi boost, Web 101 cams, Wiseco forged pistons, TRD main bearing caps, ARP fasteners, large custom air-air intercooler, custom exhaust header, and SDS-EFI programmable fuel injection and ignition. Transmission is a built Toyota T-50 5 speed with TRD close-ratio gears and TRD quick shifter behind a lightweight flywheel and ACT clutch. Sump is a nice winged cast alloy unit from a PRB Clubman. A custom fuel cell from Fuel Safe holds the gas.

The fiberglass body has the 'Classic' Fury bonnet with doors and detachable sidescreens and includes both a soft AND hardtop and windshield and hardtop rear glass as well as a braced roll bar. A full Autometer Ultralight gauge package, heater, wipers, leather RX777 seats, complete carpet and trim package, all lights and switches are included.

What's left to be done? A coolant expansion tank (included) to be spliced into the cooling system, gauge installation and switch/light wiring, carpet and interior trim, and final bodywork and paint.

Why haven't I finished it? Demanding job, new interests, moving soon. Life intercedes!

Price: $7500 inclusive.

Hi guys,

I shared a few emails with the seller when he was having trouble joining the site to post the ad. This was done via his work email address which is a very well known company, and he paid the $20 membership fee to make the post in this section, so no reason to think he isn't legit. He might be having access issues again or not receiving reply notifications. I'll reach out to him and let him know about the interest.

Thanks,

John

For those of you who've replied and/or sent PM's to me. Sorry about that. I had emergency surgery on Monday for a broken collarbone and have been out of it. The ad is legit, and so am I. The car is in the Springfield, Mass. area (Western Massachusetts). I'm responding to the PM's now! Sorry again!

I'm thinking more of a Jim Clark sort of tribute. Highlands green or BRG exterior with red interior and perhaps a yellow or white lipstick around the front intake.

Or just the standard Gulf orange and light blue scheme. hmmm?

This Fury be mine-came to terms with seller-paypal deposit, truck on way.

Its a blank canvas for me-Peter Max, hurt your eyes neon green, a wrap?

I got pulled into making a deposit on the Polaris Slingshot-$20K-but 1700 pounds, I have had 4 Sevens-been there done that-this is the relationship I have been hoping for-FURY.

Kevin,

Congrats on the purchase! Don't leave us hanging; keep us up to date on what you do with this car. I'll retract my Gulf vote for the neon 'can-you-see-me-now' green wrap.

The Fury has been sitting in my studio garage on jackstands-wonderful.

In its clear gelcoat shes translucent flesh colored with alloy bits, a splash of yellow from the spax.

I have been working on exhaust fitting and panel fit-glassing and sanding-being intimate. I have cut and welded the exhaust with a torch. A bonding welding experience.

It has come to me as a silly thought to finish the car in camo in the style of the RAF with Roundrel, and perhaps front turn signals in the shape of 20mm cannons-flashing,

The thoughs that pas thru ones mind while in Bliss!

The folks from the Toyota 4A forum, feel that this is a 180rwhp engine 8000rpmish-its engineered by Yamaha and most feel that it is a reverse engineering of the Ford Cosworth BD series , but improved. Neat

Kevin in Heaven,

Regarding the RAF-style-camo-with-Roundrel paint theme . . . . Well, it's not called a Fury for nothing. Do it.

That would be a great, subtle reference! http://tinyurl.com/lba2h7m It would be interesting to photoshop it with the 5 black and white stripes also. That would be something I've never seen. Of course, if one did this, then you would also have to think about acquiring a Triumph Spitfire, Ford Mustang, and a Messerschmidtt appropriately painted.
