  1. I honed my skills on 300TW street tires (lotus elise). I went form 1:36's in my first track day to 1:29's within a year. Then came the RA1's  1:26's in my first session, and boy were they slick for the first few laps. and down to 1:24's in my 3rd session. Since then I would average 1:25 or so. It is supposed to be fun. And driving at/near the limit shouldn't feel like all hell is breaking loose. Quite the opposite.
  2. Okay msr-c 1.7ccw goal with your new setup?
  3. After a long cost benefit analysis process :toetap05: Lights I don't really like $200 (or the ugly ones currently installed) vs about $700 total for something I do like. Huge price difference. In the end = worth it. I went with all of these from car builder solutions left to right Pair of best looking head lamps pair of rear lights reverse light http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=18844 ugly brake light and extremely small turn signal http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=18846 the hood grinds on these 7" headlights every time I raise or lower it.
  4. Muito Bom
  5. It's cool. I am far enough progressed to actually put money into the car. I know the car will be able to be registered. Whereas I wasn't sure before if they were going to be okay with the fact that I have zero receipts. I guess it is my turn to make them sweat. I'll see everyone 15k later.
  6. DMV played me again. :flag: To recap. The DMV office (desk guy and manager) said I was complete and didn't need brake and light inspection and that the statement of construction was fine (they filled it out with DMV jargon). What do I get in the mail? "incomplete application, go f*** yourself" I have to conclude that the DMV is just having a great time seeing how long they can draw out this registration. 6 months so far. I already bought all new lights anyways. The car is at my friend's shop awaiting upgrades. It is going to take 2-3 months before I can "finish" the DMV requirements.
  7. :puke: :Chevy_anim:
  8. not logic. marketing. :Chevy_anim:
  9. Ahhh, nothing like a $75,000 CAMARO.
  10. It makes sense now. I read the post After I woke up from my after-work-pre-night class nap. I had to read it a few times.
  11. I'm not a drug user, but after reading that post I understand how they must feel. That said, it does look good ........ enjoy!
  12. I thought I was done. Dmv office gave me plates and tags. Then I got a packet from Sacramento saying I needed brake and light inspection and statement of construction. The inspection places refused to take me in out of fear of getting it wrong and losing their license. I didn't know how to fill out the statement d construction because I'm basically the 4th owner w/ no receipts. So I go back to the DMV today to get direction and at first they just reiterate what they said I needed and said I'd need to buy a bond from an insurance company because I have no receipts .... Then I told them how I have no clue and its been 5 dang months, no other locost people have gone through this etc etc.... He goes and talks to his manager and comes back and says that they are waving those requirements and that they'd finish registration right now. I have registration in hand and am waiting on title from dmv. What a wild ride. I wish I could write something to help people through it, but I honestly don't know what the process will be like for others.
  13. They just sent me an invoice, it has excluded VAT. Thank you for confirming that this is normal. Now I can pay.
  14. If carbuildersolutions' website worked, I would have blown $700 already on lights. I can't believe how hard it is to find lights for Kit cars. Hours of searching and only the UK and Australia sell them. And as I mentioned in the first post, the car builder website is perfect for us....... I just don't want to get raped with VAT with how many things I want to buy from there. Hard to imagine that our car culture sucks so bad compared to theirs. It seriously makes me consider moving to the UK or Australia.
  15. I didn't notice the price was for a pair. The lights look great on your car.
  16. My friend, those are beautiful. I also thought something like these lights from the indy concept would work well too.
  17. also, does anyone know where some headlights like these can be found..... affordably? https://www.kitpartsdirect.com/item.php/store/90/c1/380/c2/3931/sn/Venom%20V1%20Carbon/w/Vemon_V1_Carbon_2012_UK_E_Marked_5_Function_Headlight_Pair
  18. http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/en/ Everything you could want. Sooo. Is there a comparable company located stateside?
  19. Easy there. Save your energy so that you can give more bad answers to good questions. I kid. I kid.
  20. Ok wise guy. I ran RA1's. my friend in his exige ran R888's. RA1's have a cult following. You should try the kool aid.
  21. sooo. I think this guy's setup is legit, no? http://www.kennybrown.com/mark-scotts-super-stalker
  22. The wife says we can't stay in California for more than 3 more years. We can't afford to buy a home in Cali, and I'm tired of not having a garage. Yeah, a lot of people slack off in rattlesnake. When I was still on street tires, I hit about 60 mph at the location marked in the picture. I'd have to look at my AIM solo data to see how fast I was on R comps. Probably not much faster as I took rattlesnake in 3rd vs 2nd.
  23. You trying to kill me? I'm lighting my wheels up in 3rd with 170 ish at the crank. I'm actually thinking of going smaller, not larger. I have some acquaintances that are offering to do a certain engine swap for pretty cheap. There is something that annoys me about a crammed engine bay. Once I move back to Texas, I'll show you what 250 hp does to 500 hp at the track. I need an overpowered car to pick on, do you mind being that one?
  24. I was long contemplating putting in the new mustang v6 into the stalker. In short, it only doesn't "fit" because the intake manifold is not centered. The LS1 is hardly bigger overall, and actually fits, whereas the v6 would have to cut a nice hole into the hood.
