A free market would be one in which no law could be passed to gain advantage. What is fair and equitable? We are all born with different abilities. We don't have the right to success, only the right to pursue it to the best of our abilities. Is it fair and equitable that General Electric pays no income taxes? Is it fair that they sit on Obama's job council? Is it fair for any company to pay less % of taxes than any other? All of those that scream about the evils of capitalism ALWAYS highlight the big corporations using government to corner the market. You are arguing against yourself. You want more government, but prove why you need less in the same effort. You must be joking and/or have never studied economics. Within every economic school lies a foundation "to work from". Keynesian economics is the main school in which our politicians get their beliefs from. This means that our current rudder is mostly Keynesian. I am firmly in the Austrian camp. Personal responsibility should be our rudder. The problem for my camp is that it is impossible to go from this corrupt system to a true free market..... without the corrupt system first imploding. Is it easier for an alcoholic to consume "just one more" beverage, or go to rehab? These super banks could not exist in a free market. They need favors, a positive regulatory climate and bailouts to survive.

I did consider a cossie, until my recent veterinarian bill of $3,000 and future chemo costs came forth. Hopefully MSR Cresson is that "fairly bumpy" track you mentioned.

What? MSR Cresson isn't like "racing on the highway" It is a track that does not discriminate against low power. I never hit more than 105 (GPS speed) in my Elise or watch what I did to Corvettes.

It wasnt until I became a competent driver that I learned that I didn't need insane amounts of HP. The 3-400 hp difference between my elise and vettes accounted for very little. I gained that back and more under braking. Some people get slower with more power, as they Tend to not get on the power until they are at track out.

This DMV office gave me til the end of January on a temporary. Woohoo. Yeah, I got the application form with sequence # written on it. I called BAR and they told me Sacramento has to mail it to me. This baby will be going to the track (willow springs maybe) hopefully within 6 months. I got my SB number. I went to torrance and didn't have to even say a word. They were on it. I'm 322

Thanks! I called the CHP officer, and he was astounded by the run around I was getting. He said to change DMV offices and go straight to a manager. He then said that if anyone gave me trouble that he'd call them for me. That said, I should have my sb100 number next Monday.

I think the CHP knew it was replica by running the vin. The DMV started off accepting it as a 62. It has less than 7500 miles, but noone ever said anything about the miles, except to fill in the blank on the sheet. I called the CHP officer and left a voice mail, asking if it was possible to change it back to 62 lotus. With the volume of people registering their vehicles through satan's a'hole, you'd think they'd know how to do their jobs.

Today's highlights Sacramento said "what's SB100" me, " senate bill 100" Sacramento, "why'd you call us?" Sacramento, "call BAR" DMV, "Your car isn't eligible for smog exemption, talk to CHP, BAR and DMV Sac. See if CHP will change the paperwork back to 62' Lotus." yada yada " You can't be driving that, it's bad for the environment." Bar, "you need SB100. Go back to the DMV and apply for one." me ," what if I don't have build receipts etc..." Bar, "let me check.......... you should be ok." Believe me...... I tried to do this as nice and polite as possible. In the end, being told No 15 times from the desk person and their supervisor ends this round in the DMV's favor. California: 4 Me: 0 I think it's time for a different DMV office. :puke:

DMV says CHP has all of the authority. DMV is going with CHP to make it a spec construction. They said no path forward at their level.

I don't have all of the documents required for an SB100. I am the 4th owner of this stalker, and it was registered in Illinois and Oregon since 2009. I have an appt. on Tuesday with DMV. We'll see.

Thanks. I guess i'm less worried about ability to get the SB 100, but am confused why CHP didn't just go on what it is titled as ?!? All was well when he first came out. Made light chit chat, told him It was too loud, wanted mufflers w/cat and his response was "why?" He took down the VIN, went inside and when he came back out....... whole different ball game. Basically said "get your check book ready, its going to be expensive..... yada yada need SB100 or cat and smog pump etc" I love how they take your money to register it first.......... MONTHS before it is even registered.

It's titled as A 62 lotus. First titled in oregan and then Illinois, chp guy making it sound like its going to get a title on it that says speciality make etc. help please
