The tires can take the punishment, higher TW tires are more forgiving than slicks. You are just at a lower G threshhold. If you want to be faster, buy better tires and calm down. Tires are cheaper than body damage and or injuries.

On my 2nd track day, my friend rode along with me so that I would then be allowed to drive solo. On one corner, there was a cone missing. My friend kept insisting that I turn in at the last cone. I knew in my gut that it was wrong. But lap by lap, I turned in when he said and lap by lap I struggled to control the car after the apex. I finished the session. He then took a session and instantly said, "you were right, there is a cone missing". Yes, do NOT focus on the cones.

When you know your rear end is going to come around like that, sometimes it is best to not counter steer, but steer the other way. Makes for a nice tight spin.

You are using z06 sized tires at 33 percent less weight and equivalent power. I on the other hand will never have more than 250 bHP. I'm not doubting anyone's credentials, I just have a hard time believing that I would need that much rubber. Considering the difference in torque, I could see going to 255's x4.

mkay. I ran 15x7 (front) w/ 205 RA1's and 16x7 w/ 225 RA1's on my Elise. I fail to see the need to go bigger than that for a 14-1500 lb car. Ketchikan. Alaska is WAY warmer in the winter than Georgia. There is nothing wrong with that, nor is it a sign that we are to blame. It is also WAY warmer in Seattle than in Dallas, Texas. The true test is to perform a controlled test. We can't do this because there are do many moving parts and no time machine. This, they are trying to figure out co2's effect by other means. They still haven't nailed it down and if anyone has noticed EVERY IPCC prediction was later revised down. Besides that, they thought we were entering a great global cooling just decades ago. Sure we have an effect on the climate, but take pause when every climate model is proven wrong. Why? They overestimate our effect on the climate and they don't understand natural variations. Remember, we started recording temperatures when we were coming out of the little ice age. We damn sure don't want to go back to those temperatures. The whole climate change movement s built on the Unproven theory that the Earth will accelerate its warming due to us, instead of facing resistance ( think about cars at high speed facing drag). Just wait another ten years I'd say. Time alone had already significant weakened the climate change movement, so look at current predictions and see who is correct in time. Some on the other side see cooling ahead due to a weak solar cycle. The Gores downplay the sub's effect on temperature. Who's right? Well see.
