I used a Braille battery in the Ultralite. They are small and powerful and expensive. The Odyssey is good if not better and half the price but the Braille is smaller. http://http://www.brailleauto.com/

Hey I remember that S4 wagon and the driver he was very nice his name espaces me though. His wagon was pretty fast but I guess most 1 lap cars are on quick side. I did finally find the Aug issue. Not a mention in there but we had a picture anyway. I was a little disappointed that they talked about all the heroics of people putting clutches and fuel filters in but not a mention of us swapping out 3 diffs and driving 500 miles out of the way to do it. Oh well that is what happens when you are not in the top 10. Next year we will be.

Which issue? I was told it is out but can only find the July and no coverage in that one. I havent found the Aug issues yet.

Installing a Radar Detector in a Se7en
WestTexasS2K replied to scannon's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I just put a strip of velcro on the hood between the cowls and attach the detector to it. Works like a champ and the velcro is easy to get off after the trip. -
NO Actually Kevin my co driver in the One Lap ended up buying the green car. So now I can build this 1 for my self which was my original plan all along. It just took a bit to come to reality.

on July 27 8.00 Eastern 9.00 Pacifice CMT will have a 1hr show on the 1 Lap of America event. We were interviewed a few times so we might get a few seconds on the show. It should be a pretty entertaining show and a glimpse of what the event is really like. Double check the listings a little closer to time because CMT website doesn't show it up yet but it is listed on the 1 Lap site.

Dont forget about the Run and Gun event Oct 11-13. It is an excellent time to get alot of track time with all levels of driving exp welcome. Throw in an autocross and dragracing with other enthusiast all equals a great time. Not to mention the Wednesday tech session that is full of all kinds of useful info on suspension and car set up. Plus its alot of fun kicking Cobra butts.

Very nice car I have been anxious to see pics of it. With 350hp and gobs of tourqe that the SR motor makes must make for an amazing ride. I hope you can find a diff that holds together for you. I love the side vents that is a good idea especially with turbo. Are you using an intercooler? That thing will be a monster on a road coarse good luck and hope to see the car with my own eyes sometime. Are you coming to Run and Gun this year? I will be there this year, and your car should be one of the fastest in the field. Good luck with the new car.

We used a Samsung sports camcorder SC-x210L to shoot 1 lap video. It comes with the lipstick camera are records to an sd disk. It records to in Jpeg format and many others plus it doubles as still camera and many other uses. It will record about 2hrs in high resolution with the larger disk. It has built in video stabilizer which is really nice. It is very small we mount the camera on the dash with velcro and then mount the camera on the roll bar. It is very easy to use. The problem is you budget of 250.00 You can find some on ebay close to that price range. The only problem we have with it is the mic is built into the camera lense and pics up wind noise and not the engine sound.

Haven't had to much trouble with the cops. Everytime I have been pulled over the cop just wanted to see the car. But I do not have a windshield on mine. I just have the aero screens. In Texas if it has a winshield it should have wiper blades of some type. If you do not have a windshield then nothing is needed. But I know there are several guys that run the windshield in Tx and have heard of no problems. You might get a ticket if pulled over for some other reason but not pulled over for that reason. Heck I dont have a front license plate the registration and inspection stickers are not displayed and I still dont get pulled over. Maybe I am just lucky.

Never received any kind of mileage statement! Maybe it has to do with the state we live in? -
Insurance For Daily Driver 7
WestTexasS2K replied to the_rainman's topic in General Sevens Discussion
They do not consider it a daily driver if you have another vehicle that could be used for daily driver. I don't know that they are going to check the mileage anually. I have had mine with them for 2 years and have about 11K miles on it and no problems. But I dont drive it daily I have other vehicle for that. My favorite saying is "better to ask forgiveness than permission." If you do get involved in an accident just tell them that you were driving it on a nice day a dont devulge to much info. -
Ultimate Track Car Challenge
WestTexasS2K replied to WestTexasS2K's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Well my partner Kevin that I drive the Cannonball with was the one that signed us up. He was at a trade show in Vegas and didn't get the email until late Friday night. But with setting up the trade show and working it all weekend it was Monday before he had time to read it and respond. He called and they said they it was to late. They put us on a reserve list in case someone cancels. Man that really sucks. He said he got the email at 11.30 pm on friday and that was the only time he heard from them. Grassroots says they sent him 3 so who knows. So we may be there we may not. We really do thank the USA7s members for voting for us. We couldn't have done it without you. Loren -
Randy you need to get out to Motorsports Ranch and run with NASA or Drivers Edge or Apex Driving Academy. It is great track with nothing to hit fun to track to let it all hang and find the limits.

I hate to hear that TWS is closing that is a fun track and lots of course options. That track has a significant history it is a shame to close it but it probably loses money. It was built for Nascar style events and was deemed to fast and never really had any significant races there. Alot of teams did testing at the track. I beleive Mario Andrette set some sort of speed record there some 12-15 years ago that still stands. But there is alot of competition for drivers now with all the tracks opening. I just they all can stay open.

I would prefer to keep the FI. But some of the earlier motors had carbs, wasnt sure what year model you had. I will search ebay for a manual.

OK you BEC guys I want to pick your brains a bit. Who is running a Busa engine? Are you still running the Fuel injection or carbs? How difficult is it to wire the fuel injection and coils is there a source that has a wiring diagram? I would like to build a BEC locost to go along with my Ultralite. But instead of going with a seven type vehicle I want to build something more like this http://www.twintechcars.com/ They have a good idea but use a horrible harley engine and then put an expensive VW based transmission that is heavy and big. If you were to use a sport bike engine in the front with a driveshaft to subaru IRS would be much smaller lighter and twice the power. I think that car could be done at 900 lbs. I think this could be a very fun car to build and would have a little more interior room due to the egg shape of the chassis. What do you guys think?

Looking good. Just a month 7/7/07 are you going to make it? I really wish I could go. I saw Brian and Jerry had to give up thier spot. But I have a house that I am suppose to landscape for a parade of homes it has to be done by 7/15/07. I just don't see how I can make it work it would be alot of fun hanging with all the folks on the site putting names to faces. We will see what happens.

Looks like there is another track going in near Houston Tx. http://http://www.lonestarmotorsportspark.com/lonestarmotorsportspark/page.php?id=18. That will make the third new track on the eastern part of Texas. Eagles canyon should be operational by July http://www.eaglescanyon.com/php/welcome.php. Then Racers Ranch is currently underconstruction http://www.racersranch.com/ That on top of the 2 Motorsports Ranch outfits and Texas World Speedway and Texas Motorspeedway. They keep this up we will be able to have a 1 Lap of Texas. Run all the Tracks in Texas in 3 days.
