  5. There are a couple of events coming up here in the Midwest. They are the Kansas City All British Car Show on Sep 1st and 2nd and the Brits in the Ozarks Show in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sep 8th and 9th. My British made Locost will be on display at both of these shows along with hopefully some other Midwest Se7ens. Please drop by and say hi, or better yet, bring your Se7en and display it alongside mine, finished or not. I will be happy to talk to all who want to listen about all the joys (and troubles) of owning these cars. I plan on using these shows as a dry run for the “2008 Midwest Se7en Gathering” some time next summer. Drop me a line if you are planning to come and I’ll keep an eye out for you. The web sites for these events are: http://kcallbritish.tripod.com and http://www.britishironnwa.org/show07.html . SEE YOU THERE! Russ Amos

  8. I've been there also. Highly recommend it. Also while you are there go to Mesa Verde and Cortez. Cortez has some of the nicest people in the world. Russ
  9. I have some questions involving trailers. I am using E track for tiedowns and I installed them along the length of the trailer. I noticed on the group buy trailer the E track was installed ACROSS the width of the trailer. Which is proper? Does it make any difference? Also my trailer is only 153" long inside and the car is 129" long so I don't have much room fore and aft to run the tie downs to the track. I was wondering if I could tie toward the center of the car as opposed to tieing away from the car. Thanks Russ
  10. Bummer! When does he go to work??? Russ

  12. See Kansas. Wisconsin (Door County) would be nice. We have a cabin ringh on Lake Michigan so a nice swimming beach is available along with lots nice roads. Russ
  13. I could do it unless someone else wants to. I live in the Kansas City area so that is actually in two areas. Plan on having my locost and possibly another at the KC All British show and the Fayetteville, Ark shows in September. Both would make great venues for a show or we could go it on our own, Russ
  14. BA is 1600cc . Assembly was started on Dec 31 1978 by Tom Seacrest, after 8 pints of Guiness, and finished on Jan19, 1979 after he got out of the hospital after suffering a one car accident on the M1 early on the 1 of Jan. Just kidding but a BA is 1600. Russ
  15. I was told that my Locost came over in a container with a bunch of others. Maybe they are related. Mines RHD though. It is definatly a crossflow. I have a Haynes manual and could find out the size for you if you wish. It looks like a 1600. Is it a 4spd? The BH looks small like it has a Sierra trams. My 1300 has a 4spd but the BH it huge. Russ
  16. Al , your quote about happiness would make a great bumper sticker for our cars. Too bad we don't have bumpers, Russ
  17. The British car show in Fayetteville, Ar(Sept 7&8) is a great venue. I went there last year and plan of going again this year. It is a well planned event. They give you a map with lots of self guided tour roads to go on. Russ
  18. You're mean. I wish I would have done that. Russ
  19. Windshield. The wind deflector just did not cut it. Windshield wipers. Just in case. Bikini top. Also just in case and it is nice on hot sunny days. Hood scoop for air cleaner that sticks out of the hood. Looks just like the cover of "Lotus 7 and the Independents" Rear boot. Usable space to haul beer without it falling on the pavement. Installed a heater. Now I can stay warm in the winter while going to get the beer. Next winter: Install an 1800cc Miata engine and trans to replace my Ford xflow1300cc. I'll more than double my HP. Hope the dif can take it. Getting beer will be faster now. Make doors New fuel cell New dash insturments New pedal assy. Russ
  20. Wow that is nice. Maybe he could finance his build by making those for others on this forum. If he gets to KC, I'll give him a ride for one of those, Russ
  21. If you can get a copy of the state code that applies to your car and carry it with you. That way if the guy stops you again you can show it to him. Or even better get the license department to give you a letter. Cops have long memories so he will be on the look out for you. Russ
  22. Also look at the Malone Skunk in Briton. That's a neat trike. Russ
  23. I did that 9 years ago. It's a great feeling. But I had more time to do things whenI was working that I do now. Too many irons in the fire. Good luck, Russ
  24. It looks like everything has come full circle. Life is like that. Tell her happy birthday for me. I took my 83 yr old mother in law for a ride in mine and I think I scared her to death b4 I even got out of the driveway, Russ
  25. Excuse me but that did not look like you were going 30mph!!!!! Looked good. And sounded better. Your almost there. Russ
