  1. I tried to get people to Kansas City last labor day to the KC All British car show. No one came except Julian and me. We could try again this year if there is any interest or on some other weekend. It would be almost impossible to do any speed events unless we tagged along with a scheduled autox or track day at Topeka Heartland track. Lots of nice roads and things to see around here along with the greatest BBQ in the nation. My house is located in Shawnee, Ks and it has a large shaded lot for showing cars and picnic if we wanted to keep costs down. Some could even camp if they wanted. Two hotels within a half a mile of my house. I have been scoping out good roads to drive on and could have self guided trips or go en masse, etc. How fancy do you want???

  5. Man I hope my enging bay looks that good when I put my Miata engine in. It is going to be a tight fit. I wish you lived closer so I could study it more. Going to be in Colo. in early June but can't get out to see you. My son and I will be at Boy Scout High Adventure Camp near Salida, Russ
  6. I wonder how many Hail Mary's he had to say. I think that would end my driving career. Russ

  10. 1300cc British MK2 escort with 4spd and 58 blasting HP. It is definatly not a speed demon. It is a book build clear down to the donor car. RHD made in Britian. I want to put more HP in it but funds and space under the bonnet are tight. Miata engine would be a tight fit. Love to go BEC. Still debating. I'm not a speed demon but I want more ponys, Russ
  11. Here is the front view showing the 7 grill made from 1/8" brass rod. The grill behind it is a cookie cooling rack painted black. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070110_154548_ft_view.jpg

  14. I'm 56 going on 30 something. I have a 16 yr old daughter that causes me to drink too much and a 13yr old boy that I can still run rings around. Neather kids are the least interested in my car, motorcycle, or hunting. Where did I go wrong
  15. I will when I can figure out how too, Russ
  16. I too, am hooked. My name is Russ Amos and I live in Shawnee, Ks (a burb of Kansas City). I was a Commercial Sales Engineer for Carrier Air Conditioning and other A/C companies for 25 years when I said to myself you need to get out of the rat race and live. So I quit the corporate world and started a custom woodworking business out of my home. That way I'm home when my high school jr. and middle school 7th grader get home. For my Seven I cheated. I was getting ready to start cutting tubes for my build when BAM up popped this beautiful British made RHD Locost on ebay. It's buy-it-now price was well below what I could build it for so I bought it. I have made several changes to it sence I got it and will never be finished. It is my daily driver and I am not interested in racing it. I worked too hard to get it. I have entered it in two car shows and got a 1st and a 2nd place (the 2nd place was against a full race prep'ed factory made REAL Lotus.I love driving it around and watching peoples expressions when they see it. Sevens in the KC area are rare. My other hobbies are bow hunting deer and riding observed trials motorcycles. If you are ever in the KC area contact my and we can go for a ride.
  17. My British made Locost has a 711m in it. A 1300cc lump. Real dog. What trans do you have. The Brits have a lot of adaptors to put modern engines like 4age's. My trans is not strong enough to adapt. If I could afford a Miata engine and trans I would give you my engine. 1300 and 1600 blocks are the same just different internals. Russ
