  1. I'm a great fan of Donkervoort. Granted they are not for everyone. But the cheapest Mclaren is more. One delivers raw sensations the other a cool-factor rush. IF I understand correctly then same experience can be had in a simplified for via Brunton Stalker.
  2. Yes I talked to him but the car he had for quite awhile is sold and off to Oregon. He then contacted a fellow with an SV model , which I prefer. but the price was more than I can justify.
  3. Thanks for the offers very kind. Holding out for a Cat S3 for now. We'll see how it goes. I was surprised at the white rock lake English car show this year had no 7's or clones at all. There used to be a whole group.
  4. I'm 6'1" with size 11.5 feet and 220 lbs. 38 waist. I like the idea of a caterham in the SV size but have missed that recent opportunity. There are many more standard sized cars available so I'd like to see if I fit before going further. If I can drive it that would be cool and in turn you can drive either my Alfa Gulia Quadrofoglio or 996GT2 but just a test fit is fine.
  5. The old cream colored poured foam seats were very fragile and actually shrank over time. Good for two seasons at most. The material in the above video might be completely different. All the "rich guys" in Formula mazda used the beaded seats which were more durable. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=4525 Remember these poured seats make you one with the car. Ideal for racing. For the street ? I dont know about that. Also you want to sit somewhat upright, not slouch, when pouring because when seat is finished you rest against it as it gives support. You dont want to make long drives in a slouch position
  6. Duratec. and prefer it for many reasons. Am looking into heated seats. Fairly simple compared to a new engine warmed situation.
  7. I may be a new owner ! Fingers crossed > I'll go to this VERY cool show no matter what. https://allbritishcarday.com/
  8. I have my beady eyes on a Cat but it has no heat. Yes not a big deal most of the year but to extend a few months what is the "hot" set up ? Groan ! Caterham offers a factory option but I've seen PB Tweeks blowers fairly cheap. The car I'm looking at has the normal leather seats. I'd bet the carbon etc buckets would be extremely difficult here. Anyone with experience with electric seat warmers installed ?
  9. 2013 M spec Stalker on BAT; https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-brunton-stalker-m-spec/
  10. One of these wont work ? https://www.1000bulbs.com/fil/categories/led-single-contact-bayonet-base
  11. OMG !!! That thread is fascinating but the main thing I'm learning from it is ; BUY A COMPLETE KIT !!!
  12. I had a straight six M6 and it had plenty of power and twice the weight. I like the orange frame and suspension bits. The interior looks very cleanly designed. Which model Stalker is this ?
  13. Yeah I saw that car listed and for a fairly good price too ! One sexy looking machine.
  14. Not a Seven but kinda sorta ; https://journal.classiccars.com/2021/09/17/pick-of-the-day-stutz-wasnt-the-only-producer-of-a-bearcat/?utm_source=infusionsoft-pod&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pod&inf_contact_key=d58e7edf532b7bc1f1f3e084c15dcb1f4dfbc39d7283b2cb89d5189540b69330
  15. Gordon Murray is said to have used the Acura NSX as the standard for developing the F1. With a teensy bit more power of course If Honda had only listened to Senna and added 100 HP from the start (ignoring the then Japanese mfg's "gentleman's agreement" of 300 max) I'm convinced the car would have achieved supercar status.
  16. A fun video of the 620. Watching these guys bomb around on the street makes one relise just how exposed you are. I used to race formula cars and we had teathers that "tied" your hands to the streeing wheel in case the car flipped so as to keep your arms from flapping around and getting torn off. This pic of one stalker for sale has a side roll cage; better but not totally safe. I also like the front roll hoop and its tie in to the rear hoop.
  17. The car will be used mostly for street duty but I may do a few track events just for grins. The cars I'm looking at would be pre-built although building either would be no problem; I was an aircraft mechanic and sheet metal guy for years. I find that buying a pre-built car is also cheaper especially for the Stalker. I love the idea of the Stalkers inboard independent suspension.
  18. I bought an Alfa Gulia Quadrofoglio this summer and its cool and everything but it doesnt turn me on like the idea of a Seven clone. I've kind of narrowed it down to either a Caterham in a 420 or above spec OR a newer Stalker with independent inboard suspension. My assumptions; The Stalker yes is obviously a more beastly machine but is it TOOOOO much for the street ? ( I used to race formula cars but even the Atlantic or F Mazda were "only" about 200 HP. ) I'm assuming its much roomier which really isn't a big deal but its nice. Frankly the looks of the car are out of proportion in some way. The nose is too narrow for the rest of the body ? Doesn't have the pedigree thus respect thus resale value / market of a Caterham. Much higher bang for the buck. Caterham is quite the opposite of the above which is unusual for a car with the same heritage.. But lets face it only a mother or a carnut loves the looks of any 7. It aint no Pininfarina Ferrari. But the Cat seems to come together better. Perhaps the overall size and proportion ? Less outright 0-60 and top speed performance but more balance ? What is important ?
  19. Very cool. The S version is the "practical" one
  20. I talked to you earlier but wanted to go over things again before buying your car. Asked you to call me through ebay and PM's here. Apparently too much trouble. Just bought a Afla Romeo Quadrifoglio with cash after selling a 350K lot. My advice; when serious people want to buy your car.....call them. I can see why you had problems with Brunton.
  21. Did I miss a price ? I used to weigh 265 and one day got sick and tired of looking in the mirror. Went on a Keto diet and lost 70 lbs in about 7 or 8 months. Now I'm exercising but only to add strength not to lose weight. Weight loss come from diet control. The way I figure it I eat about 1 hr per day max. The other 23 you pay for it. Although the beer went I switched to Scotch and water. Some sacrifices are too much to endure
  22. Not a seven but kind of neat anyhow; Morgan Aero 8 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2005-morgan-aero-8-6/
