  1. At the end of the season I've been getting.. questionable oil pressure readings on my stock sensor. Very close to 0 with occasional bumps up in pressure on stock sensors. I've always been low indicated pressure but with changes such as removing the Accusump that granaded on the track I'm looking at other options to make sure that the sensor is the likely issue. I've search at old threads but they go back to 2008/2010 and some things may have changed in the last 13 to 15 years. Looking for general recommendations from the experts One of the old threads was linking to this Racetech Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=1091 Thanks,
  2. I had to look back to see my text. I mispoke. It's a hole in one of the mounts for the upper wishbones and yes to run wires. I'll get some pics in the future
  3. I've had the conversion pending for some time. Caterham actually went through multiple configurations. I don't remember if smaller lights came first or lower mounts but they did not both switch at same time. I think it was lights first. Short gap solution is the 5 3/4 headlights on old mounts and that's what I've been running. Drilling a new hold in the lower wishbone mount is required for swap. You also have to rerun the wires. Most cars came hard wired so setting up some econoseal plug is a good idea. Yes you're right you will leave a hole without having another nose cone.
  4. Time to take the title for the cheapest car here that's my daily. Honestly just the sales tax alone of some of the cars posted here cost more than the my daily, my Xc70 and my Miata combined. 07 Versa 6spd. 55k miles. More fun to drive than you might think. Definitely more fun that some of the auto commuter appliances out there now a days.
  5. Not a lot of talks about this. I don't have any interest but was curious what the brilliant and experienced minds here think https://meteormotorsport.com/caterham/caterham-irs/ The cost of this conversion is £5950.00 + vat However for the first 10 conversions we are reducing this price to just £4950.00 + vat. Interest in this conversion is high so be quick! Although we remove a very small section of the lower chassis rail that in the standard car attaches to the lower basket this could be reversed in the future if wanted very easily. We prefabricate a rear “basket”, wishbones and upright which is then welded onto the rear bulkhead. Our target for the conversion is 2 weeks. The iRS makes for vastly improved road manners, particularly over sharp high speed surfaces. Of course, there is still a “bump” – these are small lightweight cars after all but the harsh sharp edge that we all “brace” for is removed. I know members like Croc had the ability to experience both CSR and DeDion over and over back to back on track. Small caveat is that CSR also has inboard fronts which also change the handling further besides the rear being IRS. With that said I don't think anybody here had experienced IRS in an S3 because that was never factory offered.

  8. @Mark IV is this something you could help source?
  9. For the record, mine looks like this too
  10. This post made me realize that I've never bought the brackets yet. Granted I'm still quite far away from mounting/painting the nose 620 nose cone as I haven't settled on the stripe style.

  13. Listings seem to have slowed down lately. We shall see what this year holds overall. Even over last winter there's been more BaTs and other listings.
  14. You can always try the 620R style mounts. You'll need new mounts welded or attached but they are more sideways and higher
  15. Mine were missing an I've never used the bottom either. With that said there is some damage from vibration and extra stresses on that lower lip (can't be seen but concerning)
  16. I heard the typical track day insurance fee is 1% of value of vehicle. Does that seem to track?
  17. That's a big woof if you've never heard of them. All I know is the quote was friendly but the clear definition of their terms of use was not friendly to my needs. I specifically asked for limitations to make sure I don't run into issues in the future. She had to review my questions "with the director" to see if travel to work is covered. "Normal driving" was explicitly excluded. It came up in some discussions online, don't recall if those discussions were 7 related or just general recommendation for classic type cars.
  18. One thing I will say is that there were some insurances that were recommended that were VERY limited in what you could do and it scares me from being insured by them Condonskelly was one of them and they were very specific that I couldn't do "normal driving" in the car. IE could go to and from work or school or shop or use it as as substitute vehicle. Considering my work is very close to my house and there are shopping centers and grocery stores everywhere I was afraid that if an accident happened id have to be arguing with them on the case use basis for why I was out. Not to mention I do take my car to work about 6 times a year. Be very aware of nuance on policies now as you don't want to be dealing with the minutia later when it matters more and your car is broken and money is on the line. A lot of those limiting driving and miles policies will stipulate that it has to be a weekend type car that goes to shows and events and cant be driven as a normal car
  19. I have state farm in NY and drop it into storage mode for winter rates, I keep the plate and reg throughout. Agreed value. It's more expensive per month than haggerty but much cheaper during off months. Comes out about a wash in the end but state farm is much easier for me to deal with. Are you in the city?
