I feel like it's time for you to get a Montana plate..

Funny you say that about being alike Here is what used-to-be-mine-became-hers Grom looks like along some of my other bikes. It's small enough that I still keep it in the single car garage next to 7. It does sound like you have a very nice HPC unit. With straight cut gears I believe you said as well? Also mimics mine. The whine is awesome. Helmet is obviously personal risk tolerance. I wear safety glasses and so far debris hasn't been an issue other than the track. Got nailed with a piece of tire in my visor last time at NJMP. Brits leaving stains behind is just their way of marking US territory. It's like a dog peeing on a fire hydrant outside. It doesn't really own it, but it feels better about leaving the mark and claiming it. Look forward to seeing more pictures and experiences with your 7.

Ah the Vegas life. Where 7 could actually serve as a "year round" vehicle. You should still be excited. The car really can be a life changing epiphany in a way for those who life small well handling cars. You being a motorcycle rider like myself, you'll be amused to hear that I barely ride any of my bikes anymore since getting the 7. Thats after many many years of riding and behind a die hard bike guy. Any time it's nice enough for a bike, it's nice enough for a 7 and it's a similar experience that's better in some ways. No helmet, no gear, no need to worry about falling over or glancing at guard rails as a decapitation device. You just go out and enjoy it. Strongly recommend an aero screen. With all that said, in NY the car doesn't see more than a few thousand miles a year. Between temperature, other weather, limited utility and numerous gremlins/breakdowns it certainly doesn't make a daily for me. I believe reliability is hit or miss. It's simple in many ways but high strung in other ways. As you can see by my thread I've been chasing misc issues throughout my ownership but to me that's part of the experience. Plus eventually I'll run out of things to replace...

That explains a bit. I'll likely try to bend these over the winter as there really isn't an existing second market for CSR stays in US, or otherwise also order the aluminum ones. They also lighten the wallet too! How did you end up securing the front/back? I assume you likely glued the back but did you actually use the bolt for the front?

I'd think about it, but fore-warning. I get rid of very few parts... In other news I got hit with a nice case of hindsight being 20/20. I knew that CSR has a different offset but for some reason I expected the CSR cycle wings fit with CSR wing stays on an S3 just fine. Quickly learned thats not the case. Westermann sells appropriate lighter wingstays and I might end up going that route instead of bending what I have now. Still debating. They aren't the cheapest thing on the planet https://westermann-motorsport.com/en/produkte/superlight-cycle-wing-stay-csr-type-wings @SK400 - I assume you got westermann stays too or did you use existing Caterham ones and make them work?

The type 9 is likely leaking into the bellhousing and thats where you see the puddles. I let mine leak until my clutch failed on the track, then once I was in there I serviced the Type9 and did the rear main seal fixing all the problems. It's a decently big enough job that obviously requires engine removal. If it's not too big of a leak I'd keep checking on levels and keep topping it off. Have you setup a cardboard underneath it to help pin point exactly where the drips are coming from?

Stuff to think about. The overkill option was particularly recommended when I mentioned of potentially trying to go FI with the Rotrex over the winter. Until then it was a balance of them having to poke around Pectel and while possible it would add up in hours of labor due to limits of system. According to the tuner and my understanding going with a better ECU will be an initial cost but will save on troubleshooting and tuning time in the long term. Don't know what the balance/crossover point is but that's the theory. I'm open to all and other options, but I'd like to do it once as I'm sure the labor on repining will add up. I don't want to change harness if I don't have to. I'm far from electrical expert so I'd rather not get into it.

Tuner is recommending upgrading ECU from ancient Pectel in order to move forward and figure things out and tune it well. Any good reason to hesitate upgrade besides cost? I have an Omex sitting on a shelf but after the effort of repining and doing all the work tuner is recommending just going with a good new unit to begin with. Their suggestion is Emtron. Never heard of it and will look into it for now.

My limited experience feedback: I've ordered many things from UK so far from different vendors and never needed to give my SSN. Typically DHL is final delivery for me and they will contact you and hold your big package until duty is paid. Small packages no issues.

I looked through the other thread and didn't see anything crazy in regards to the build. Any details?

That is very very healthy power for NA Zetec!

Amazing shots as usual. Thanks for getting Mike involved and his services. I'm still working on the ones that my better half took. Ran into some technical issues but turnaround will be quicker than last year

Status update: Car made it through the track day more or less just fine. Was taking it easy in the first heats putting around and going out last because I didn't have any confidence in how it would perform throughout the range and beating on it. Towards the end of the days I didn't see any serious issues. I did discover that I do still have a running hot/potentially overheating issue at idle/low RPM's but fine once moving. As a matter a fact I started to get hot and throttle started to get hangy/sticky again while in the lineup but did fine once we got out onto the track. The misfire/falling on it's face issue is still around after letting it coast from high RPMs. At this point tune is the next step. After talking to guys at the track they've brought up the idea of Ace Performance for a tuner. I didn't have good faith into anybody local and these guys are close enough to make trips easier than NC being about 3 hours away. They tuned an acquaintance of mine's Atom already and I saw a Caterham in their shop in pictures. They said that their client has a 2013 Duratec. So in cliffnotes: Most issues remain. Tune is one of the last things left. Might as well find out what my baseline is while I'm at it.

I look forward to seeing the rest of them! Another great shot
