Congrats, the learning begins. Shoes: I had a good experience with piloti endurance ( no longer made), the current icona is a similar shape. Rule of the internet is to get a 1/2 size down as the run large. Size 11.5 fitted snug for my size feet with my orthotics insoles, no hot spots and all day comfortable including walking. Muffler burns: Very real concern. My wife got a significant one. Long pants became the required attire. To buy her a few seconds so as not repeat I removed the heat shield, this reduced the chance of contact because she had more clearance to her leg. Wrapped the muffler and covered the band clamps with heat tube. There are a number of companies making heat mats, I have used heat shield products and a possible drape over solution might be their stealth floor shield mat, it comes in some larger sizes. love the color choice. Edit: @biomax, email them and order whatever set up you want. They tend to make them on demand since COVID, that’s how I got ours. The softbits door doesn’t have the formed pocket for your arm, however on a SV chassis there is sufficient room in the cabin plus the slight give in the fabric and if you leave (or choose to not in stall a snap at the rear)they allow you to have your arm resting comfortably on the sill. I have the mohair version so more give than say vinyl. They drop down to the ground for entry, so that’s of note. They do help with the chill factor and with a half hood provide a less turbulent environment for sustained 65-70 mph cruise… ear plugs still required. No. Only went up a couple of days ago, not really the selling / buying season at the minute. People need time to mull things over, ask questions, have discussions with partners, think about / organize shipping, find space in the garage, compare comps etc, etc, etc. Figured going up now would give time for all of that before we get to test driving weather. They salt the roads here as well, so no rush on my side. thanks for the bump.

Assorted badges. * Why 2018 for year? It should be 2013 as that’s what’s on the MSO and confirmed by Caterham. The Nevada DMV used the previous title document issue date. They wouldn’t explain why. The Last oil and filter change was done at 4,547 miles with 5W-30 Mobil 1.

“tongue in cheek” There is always this extreme… On a serious note, you do kinda just get used to cars/trucks being close and your pre-wired for the next evolution… still, just for the giggle factor I’d love to see a set on a se7en :)

A thought from the parallel universe of motorcycles where being “seen” is also a common concern. Ive used the Clearwater bille brake light on my bikes and as my wife commented “ that’s obnoxiously bright when braking “, which is what it’s designed to be. It is kinda bright when not braking and mounted low on the number plate so in the ball park of a se7en’s height. https://www.clearwaterlights.com/products/billie-brake-light However the unintended consequence was, if I stayed on the brake at a stop light the person behind me would creep closer to block the light, daytime 60% would creep, nighttime 90%. Observed that bigger vehicles didn’t get as close due to blocking the light earlier. Had thought about putting a couple on the roll bar of ours but I know exactly what would happen.

Might help someone. Had reason to need the MIL light operable on the tachometer. Peter at Caerbont instruments successfully got it operational so that it comes on with ignition power up and goes out with engine running.

I had to jump through some hoops with respect to registration and had cause to get in touch with Martin and that’s what came through his search. Even then I would break out the salt shaker, I agree with you, only apply the smallest amount of logic necessary to get close to what might be in fact “true” … what happens on the floor vs. what the office records can be worlds apart. At my elevation (4,500’) it an’t a 485 and my wife couldn’t care less as 45-50 mph is her happy place. That’s excellent news about getting actual vs. theoretical measurements, the knowledge base grows. Cheers, Dean

All good, For reference on spec, according to Martin Phipps at Caterham ours is a 485. I would be thinking the same as you that a 620 would have a slightly larger diameter but apparently not? All the best with the fact finding and cross referencing.

On ours (2013, 2.0 duratec) All OD’s and approximate within a smidge… Primary’s 1.724” Into a 4.75” collector that reduces to a 3” outlet (over approximately 4”) into a catalytic converter (inside the engine bay) that has a 2.511” outlet that runs to the 7” muffler. Can get you photos if that would help, realize that the catalytic converters tend to be outside the engine bay these days so may have limited use.

Question @Croc about the tractive suspension fine tuning. Will it be the mechanical adjustment only? Or, does Bruce have the ability to make adjustments to the tractive control unit programming?

@Bartman, I went with a combination of heat shield products and got a significant reduction of in cabin / tunnel temperatures. I didn’t have the engine and gearbox box out so went with, https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/floorboard-heat-shield to reduce the heat from the tunnel. I went with two 24 x 36 with magnets, cut them to fit the profile of the tunnel and added snaps for fastening. When the engine/transmission come out in the future I’ll most likely do the tunnel in, https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/hp-sticky-shield They have a lot of solutions for headers and cater for the fully wrap it / don’t fully wrap it arguments. e.g, https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/lava-header-armor. Or, https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/lava-exhaust-wrap I don’t have my headers wrapped but do have a catalytic converter in the engine bay that is wrapped and that does help keep the passenger footwell temperature lower. I used their exhaust shield and wrap on the external exhaust and muffler to reduce radiant heat to the passenger an reduce the chance of my wife burning her leg a second time.

Took three attempts to get over the hill, round trip was close to nine hours ( normally 3 hours), witnessed a 13 car pile up just before Lake Boca on the way home, so glad to get off the road on that day. I remember well the waiting for the car feeling, took almost 2 weeks once I purchased mine for it to be transported. Those that order new and then wait have my utmost respect.
