  1. speaking of which...Loren's tire post should also be moved to the "parts for sale" section...
  2. Ed- Please keep us updated with pix and stories from the PNW tour...hopefully the hotels you are staying in have better connectivity than the ones down at the Dragon.-Al
  3. Mike-The green Noble that was at the UTCC had a few issues and didn't run that fast in all the sessions. Fastest by a few seconds was Tommy Archer's race prepped Viper. this is the one that is longer and wider than the street version...not a built up street car (like the sliver one John M. passes at the end of the video). After Archer's red viper, it looked like a Red Evo, Silver Mosler, and Greenish 300ZX were leading the pack, along with John M. in the Yellow Stalker.
  4. Photoscaling is back, even on Macs... Don't worry about trying to fix the "hide" images feature for one stinking guy with one stinking Apple-based browser....
  5. Boss-That works in Camino and Firefox. Safari still no likely. More tragic (but not really, because am I going to fire myself for using the web for "research"?) is the photo scaling or lack thereof.

Hmmmm.
  7. Mazda-For some reason, using Mac Safari and Firefox...the posts with pix don't resize now (if the pix are large, the entire window goes wider than banner/header). Also, that "hide images" link doesn't work for me...and I've tried emptying cache.
  8. Tank and Boot Floor pix... Tank is 31 1/4" wide x 9" deep x 10"/6.5" high (high/low sides) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1317118759_TankWide.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/5089265_TankSide.jpg Honeycomb Boot Floor is 38 1/2" x 13" -- 0.5" high (out of standard width, 2004 Superlight R...) 9. PARTS SALE UPDATE: • Aeroscreen...black, not graphite SOLD • Spa Center mirror (stands on post, for use with aeroscreen) SOLD • Caterham USA "Supersport" head for Zetec (I'm considering going with a Cosworth or Ford Racing head...just because I'm crazy like that...and can't really exchange it as a core since it's been modded by Cat USA...if I could find it a good home for a good $, then I'd be much more inclined to upgrade) 2 PEOPLE IN LINE FOR THIS • "R-series" Rollbar (Non FIA) (This is much more likely and timely...I heard of a mildly used FIA available and have been wanting ot upgrade....don't know what their worth...will check Caterham UK) ANYONE? ANYONE? BUELLER? • Standard Caterham Fuel Tank & Pump 1 PERSON INTERESTED • NEW LISTING: Caterham Honeycomb Boot Floor
  10. Martin-Thanks for the feedback. One thing that we were trying for was a banner that expanded with the width of the browser window. By having a photo take up most of the banner (esp. the right side), this couldn't be achieved easily...note how current banner fades to grey...which through the miracle of Ebrahimi, repeats to occupy full screen width — no matter how wide you make the window. I gave my art director a bunch of photos from the 7-7-7 meet to choose from and he picked the shot from Jalopnik of Norm B. chasing me in the wet on the Dragon. Camera car is Michael D.'s Cat. I happen to love this shot, as it evokes some of my fondest memories of that event and shows our cars in their element -- twisties. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll change things again. Look forward to more input from others -- pro and con.-Al P.S. I noticed that I had to reset my cache to get the new pic at home (just in case anyone is wondering what we're talking about).
  11. Folks- This is a post that I've been meaning to write (in addition to my 7-7-7 recap post) for a while. Attempting to go down to VIR and come back the same day was pretty much insanity on my part (Jeff U., you were right). I had to stop in Delaware somewhere at 1:30 AM because I was falling asleep at the wheel of the TT. Then when I got back, I ran the slot car track at a charity field day. Needless to say, I slept the sleep of an innocent man on Sat night. Pooped does not begin to describe how I felt... But man it was worth it. Going down there and seeing Bob D. helping his fellow Nissan-motored Se7eners the Deman guys, seeing Jeff U. and Kevin B. talking about set up and track conditions, actually talking to John M. (one of the many people I merely said "Hi, thanks for coming, here's your badge." at 7-7-7), getting a big hug from Evelyn J., Justin S. recognizing me and greeting me with a hearty handshake, having a few laughs with Dennis B., hearing Folis' side of the Birkinlist story (FREE FOLIS!), mispronouncing Sharlyn's name, getting hydration from Michelle B. and Evelyn, hanging out with my pal Jim (art director partner back in the Mercedes days), crashing Mazda's pad at all hours of the day and night...all these things are what makes my life richer because of the silly little cars. What I liked best about 7-7-7 and VIR was everyone interacting — no worries about what kind of car you drove. I've had a few conversations with dealers and makers over the past month that covered ground like "You know, our little niche is too small to be divisive." Their words, not mine. I agree wholeheartedly and am glad that our marque-inclusive group has rallied together this year to raise the profile of LSiS-type vehicles (dare I say "dramatically") in a very short time. Keep up the inclusive spirit. All of this is a long way of saying that I'm really proud of what we've accomplished as a group so far. I look forward to many more long drives and laughs with you all. Time to go home to the family. Best, Al
  12. Apologies for slightly crap rez...it looked great before I converted it to You Tube specs. I love my little exclamation at the end. "Oh!" For some reason I can't get the vid to embed. Sorry.
  13. Can you throw some rear stab jacks on so that it can be loaded/unloaded when not hitched to a tow vehicle...if so, what is cost on this addition?
  14. Some vid of Steve T. and Jeff U. running.
  15. Best news of hte day!!!! Perhaps he'll want to instruct down at VIR next year......
  16. Loren-Is that an electric brake on your trailer? What is timing from deposit to delivery (FOB, Texas).-Al
  17. Perhaps we look into a line of USA7s note cards featuring these and other images? Just a thought.
  18. NOTE: THESE HATS ARE CLUB PROPERTY SO ALL PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE TO "USA7s Inc." I will provide mailing address to people who inquire. When I receive check, I will send out hat(s) and forward payments to Mazda E. (Club Treasurer) once I ship hats out. Note that supplies are limited (I have about 10 still unspoken for...) -A
  19. $15. Send me an email or PM. I'll foot the postage. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/163406672_1895184182_Hat.jpg We also have a bunch of those Hettel handbrake locks that Dick Brink donated to the club. I'll post soon on those.
  20. Those are very cool...a happy accident!
  21. If you look real hard, you can see me standing at the fence at the short straight between the two curves one turn after the main straight. Just kidding. I'll try and get my vids from that perspective up this week.
  22. Yeah, that's the car that JBH from NC bought. The car is the same one featured in Autoweek review. Very well equipped and well-bought, IMHO.
  23. A couple a quick thoughts before I set up Laura's new Epson 3800 printer... A) When I was at VIR, the CDOC shop on site had a lot of helmets for try on...Driving Impressions up at Lime Rock is similar...perhaps Mid-Ohio has a shop (or is Summit Racing close by?) Keep in mind that I'm generally not a fan of trying at one place (and taking up a salespersons time) and buying from another (especially if you're trying to save $10). You can usually get some discount if you tell people that you saw it online for a certain price. B) Right before 7-7-7 I was in the middle of negotiating a club discount with extremesupply.com in California. I bought Laura's Bell Mag 5 (motorcycle, "jet style" ) helmet there and they were very good about exchanging it when it came and was too big (she needed an XS not an S)...I'll try to finalize some club discount this week. C) As for sizing, I had good luck with simply measuring my head...and the people I bought from (as well as a few online reviews of the Schuberth Concept moto helmet I bought) advised that the factory sizing was not accurate and put me into the right size for my measurement (I measured a medium, but bought a large). My full face helmet was comfortable for the 9 hours I wore it on my way down/back from Skyline last year.
  24. Russ- Welcome! I hear that John Meyers is putting out 400 hp...so beware. I spoke with Dennis today at VIR, he was his usual charming and funny self. There are several Stalker owners on the forum...I'm sure they'll be in touch. -Al
  25. I'm back at Chateau Ebrahimi for a quick bite with Mazda and my pal Jim (who made the trip to NC/VA with me). Great to see all the Se7ens and owners. John M., Jeff U., and Kevin B. (driving for Deman USA represented by Dino) were competing. Bob D., Daniel Mann (the creator of the SR27), Dennis B., and Justin S. were on hand too — as was Folis J. (who is running the NASA event over the weekend). Michelle B and Evelyn J kept us well hydrated. It was really great to see everyone and the cameraderie was, as usual, awesome. Of the Se7ens, John's Stalker was in the top 3rd, Jeff's Locost in the middlish, and Kevin wrestled with overheating problems in the lower third of the grid. We left before the last run session, but hopefully one of the guys will fill us in. The FTD that we saw was pro Tommy Archer in a race prepped Viper. Chip Herr, who races an Audi in Speed Touring Car was also there, in his street car. I have to say that I was not a little bit pleased to see that Jeff U. passed him. Anyway...I should finish my meal so I can get on the road. VIR is a bit remote, but looks like a great place to hold one of 2008's regional meets. I hear plans are already in the works.
