Here is a link to intakes for a standard Zetec http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?1768-Cold-air-intake-methods. The picture with the yellow car is a SVT Zetec and the intake plumbing is different. I know forum member Athens 7 had a modified intake for his SVT that relocated the battery and built a box to isolate the intake with a hose supplying cold air to the intake. It was a nice set up.

Maybe you can change the belt the way I did on my Miata. After gaining access to the belt I cut it in half length wise with a utility knife. I slid the new belt on as far as possible and then cut the remaining old belt across its width. I slid the new belt into place.

There were too many vehicles so I couldn’t get everything in the picture but someone is very proud of their collection.

I agree Paul! I thought a Miata size car by Lotus could sell as well as the Elise. Lotus pretty much invented the type and Mazda perfected it.

Lotus says they will be back in the states in 2016 http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2014/09/lotus-evora-make-us-comeback-2016.html and with the possibility of a crossover and sedan in the next decade.http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2014/09/lotus-crossover-sedan-plans-still-table.html

A friend gave me a copy of a 1961 Road & Track test of a Lotus 7. The first paragraph is still a good description of todays 7.

I don’t think that is a SVT engine as advertised,it looks like a standard Zetec. It doesn’t have the variable intake cam solenoid. -
Here is a picture of mine, Scaletric has several models available. I see an IL location, if you are near Urbana check out: http://www.hotslots132.com There was an MGTD in their showroom when I visited last summer.

I don't think the Runoffs have been on TV for a few years. The races are on Speedcast TV over the web http://speedcasttv.com/scca/ There isn't a schedule that I could find on that site yet. Mike

Bad news from a Car and Driver article that says Lotus will quit selling road cars here when the last Evora is sold. U. S. dealers will be selling only versions of the Elise and Exige and Lotus plans to “restructure its worldwide workforce” which would reduce it's workforce by 27% http://blog.caranddriver.com/going-going-lotus-to-drop-evora-from-u-s-market/ I've seen them on the ropes many times and hope this isn't the end.

Caterham 480 Article in Car Builder Magazine
breezy7 replied to scannon's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Just finished reading the article and when flipping through the rest of the magazine saw anther company that I wasn't aware of that sells a 7 kit. http://www.capefear7.com It amazes me how many copies of a nearly 60 year old design are being made, guess that says a lot about the original concept. I remember seeing a book years ago that listed all the companies that were making 7 type cars , I wonder what that number would be now. Mike -

A bit off topic but what engine is that huge intake feeding in the K2 RUM?
-
Looks like Caterham USA has adjusted their engine and transmission prices to a more reasonable level, if you purchase at the same time as buying there chassis. seven_engine_trans_options_form_engine-trans.pdf

From the Caterham USA site http://us.caterhamcars.com/owners/parts-accessories If you create an account for their news letter you get access to the downloads that includes the build guide.

Thanks Dave, that may a mod for my Miata this winter.
-
Dave: What is involved in fitting the valve cover to the Miata engine?
-
The piece on the wall behind the blue seven is great! Nice work on your car Dave.
