    Train wreck

    :leaving:
  4. Cool way to find a Seven! What part of WV? I'm putting together a drive from the DC area to Snowshoe this Sept.
  5. When you really decide to sell your BEC drivetrain, let me know. I may be interested if money allows and timing works. Alot of the various drivetrains are fairly durable. The closer you stay to stock, the more likely you won't have any trouble. Just reading the posts here for the last couple of years, common problems are coolant lines, stuck throttle, etc... not major engine / tranny problems. In my case, so far I probably have 6-7K on my drivetrain (most of those with my old toyota rear, before I upgraded), with no problems whatsoever - those miles include about 1000 miles after putting on warmed over head/cam package. Of course, my engine probably is wondering when I'm gonna actually connect it to a car, so it'll have something to pull
  6. Sweet! Went back to sketch1 and looked at that. Super easy  I had looked at it early on, but didn't know at the time. After I did the first sketch of the frame, I realized if you do it right, you can easily change dimensions later on, and had to start over on the frame again. Thanks for the tip.
  7. I played with it a little bit. I guess with my limited skills, it seemed a little difficult. The problem is that to change the angle of the legs, I had to change the plane of the sketch, not any of the lines. Is there a way to do that? With the assembly, I have just fixed the hip, so I can rotate the body and the legs by just dragging them with the mouse.
  8. the headless horseman is now driving the car... played around with a new driver today. He's an assembly, so I can easily move his legs around  Have to work on his arms, hands, feet, neck, head, and other 'equipment' later
  9. I downloaded the R1, the Busa and the Driver solidworks files. I'm using the Busa, but I'll have to do my own driver, as that one is not quite in the position I need it, and with my limited skills, seems hard to turn the legs for some reason. Also, I thought I read somewhere that the busa model is one with a dry sump. This link has my latest progress, as good or bad as it may be.
  10. we better get a gang of the fastest sevens out there

  12. Nope. Working OK for me. What does it do when you try to upload a pic? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1379572200_DSCF1319.jpg
  13. I'm starting to get annoyed with Google. They have their cobranded crappy home page on my dell, complete with some spyware.
  14. The frame is one piece. The exhaust is an assmebly (couple different style elbows, and 2 different size Y pipes). After playing with it a little bit, I'm finding that if I configure the sketch right, it is a breeze to change the dimensions of the frame. There are LOTS of details to work out as far as the model goes. There seems to be some type of problem with complex joins on the tubes. Sometimes, depending on the order you pick, it doesn't want to join them. I think I've eliminated most of those. The whole rear hoop area needs modification. I like the idea of a large member like that serving as engine mount, frame mounting point, and diff housing. We'll see how it turns out at the end.
  15. We will start in DC and go to Boston. We will take pictures of us stuck in traffic in DC, Baltimore, Willmington, Philly, NJ, NY and Boston! YEAH!!!!
  16. A married couple walked into a tourist shop. The Jamaican said to them,"I have some special sandals I think you would be interested in. Dey make you wild at sex." Well, the wife was really interested in buying the sandals after what the man claimed, but her husband felt he really didn't need them, being the sex god he was. The husband asked the man, "How could sandals make you into a sex freak?" The Jamaican replied, "Just try dem on, Mon." So, the husband, after some badgering from his wife, finally gave in, and tried them on. As soon as he slipped them onto his feet, he got this wild look in his eyes, something his wife hadn't seen in many years! In the blink of an eye, the husband grabbed the Jamaican, bent him violently over a table, yanked down his pants, ripped down his own pants, and grabbed a firm hold of the Jamaican's hips. The Jamaican then began screaming, "You got dem on the wrong feet! You got dem on de, wrong feet!"
  17. well, i've been playing with it and learning along the way. everything is fictional (and out of proportion) since i haven't done a suspension layout (and a million other things). The human and engine are from the dp1 site. I'll have to redo the human so he can stretch his legs. The engine mount is totally bogus. Exhaust probably took me as long as the frame, although if I had to do it again, it'd probably take me 15 min. This software is pretty awesome. clicky for eDrawing and a pic, if you don't want to install the Activex http://www.astarasoftware.com/solidworks/assemblies/MasterAssembly.jpg
