  1. ah, the Jalopnik articles... they were posted in the monster 7/7/7 thread some place. Let's leave 'em up for those who haven't seen 'em.
  2. these links are making both my computers hang...
  3. A young ventriloquist is touring the clubs and one night he's doing a show in a small town in Arkansas. With his dummy on his knee, he starts going through his usual dumb blonde jokes. Suddenly, a blonde woman in the 4th row stands on her chair and starts shouting: "I've heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes. What makes you think you can stereotype women that way? What does the color of a person's hair have to do with her worth as a human being? It's guys like you who keep women like me from being respected at work and in the community, and from reaching our full potential as a person. Because you and your kind continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only blondes, but women in general...and all in the name of humor!" The embarrassed ventriloquist begins to apologize, and the blonde yells, "You stay out of this, mister! I'm talking to that little shit on your knee".
  4. YouTube Video
  5. Oh yeah... damn forum administrators must be high. Regarding Mr. Lentz... I talked to him again yesterday. I think he'll at least come with his 914.
  6. Yep, sitting in the back of the vette. shoot me your mailing address and I'll send it. Or I can pass it to Al when he comes to Snowshoe (wishful thinking)
  7. I was thinking the OTHER side of the rainbow, but you have a point
  8. that there is a resemblence of a rainbow starting to form in the background of my avatar pic? I swear I haven't touched it. I wonder if there is gold at the end of it.
  9. I took frankn7 out to my parent's house today. On the way, there were a male and female billboard people in custume holding company signs along the main road. I was driving in the lot next to them, and got the usual wave and thumbs up, etc... as I roll by, they start running towards me and waving me down. I looked in the side view mirror, and the way they were motioning I wondered if something is wrong with the car. So I stopped and backed up to see what's the matter. They proceeded to tell me how awesome the car was. The lady (I'm not sure how old they were, due to the custumes) told me she's into cars ALOT, and even though this looks home-made (those of you who have seen my car know what she's talking about), it is the coolest car she has ever seen. The funny thing is, the whole time they were leaning on the roll bar, etc... like old friends. The whole encounter was pretty strange... she was dressed as a witch, and he was some type of massacre character.
  10. It's such an amazing se7en, handicapped by an unfortunate brand name :ack:
  11. Donkevort is definitely LSiS. They are just like any other seven, but have various body work options, such as the one you see. For quite a while they held the fastest lap honors at the 'ring for a street legal car. I believe Radical took that title, but not sure.
  12. Somebody in another thread said "If Caterham sues you, that's how you know you have a se7en"... it's kinda like a Jeff Foxworthy joke
  13. Yes
  14. I thought the language barrier thing only worked for me
  15. Uh oh, extended forecast shows showers creeping in :cuss:
  16. Steve, can you bring a copy with you to Snowshoe?
  17. This should be fixed... If you notice any problems, let me know...
  18. [Moved] topics have not been working, so when I move a topic, it disappears from its old location, and is hard to find. I just got it working, but not quite right yet... In between shuttling the kids, I will work on this today. If you notice something majorly wrong, email me.
  19. on mine, there is a support bearing on the frame, half way through the engine bay... between the support bearing and the rack, the shaft is two pieces. This screw takes out the play between these two pieces.
  20. I sold my RA1s on my old wheels to Robert U on the forum. I will be going back to them, or the 888s as soon as I finish off my Nittos
  21. Getting under 3 seconds 0-60 on street tires will be tough - at least for a car with reasonably balanced weight distribution. This was a back road 0-60 attempt in my car... pretty worn out nitto R compound tires, relatively slippery pavement (glazed over look). Unfortunately I run out of gear at 57 MPH. D'oh. also, on this run I don't think I quite made it to 60. looks like wheel spin between 57 and 60. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/slngsht/0to60_1.jpg
  22. I'm gonna go with November. The site has become pretty enjoyable. Good to see many more people contributing  for a while, when I first started, it was sort of like http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070218_194926_tumbleweed.gif
  23. With all the changes I crammed into the car before 7/7/7, I had noticed that the steering had developed a fair amount of play in it. I had checked each of the joints to make sure there is no play in them, and concluded the play has to be in the rack. After all the cranking of the wheel at the dragon, the problem was more exaggerated (not a good thing when journalists are driving your car). Folis drove my car and noticed it too. I pretty much concluded that I needed to rebuild the rack, so ordered a new toyota rack (which needs to be shortened). I figured I better fix this before the snowshoe blat, as driving the car had become significantly less enjoyable, particularly on the highway and rough roads. So last night I finally pulled the car in, got ready to pull the rack, and decided to check things over one last time. I found a lock screw that was totally loose, and the cause of all the play. I think I missed it earlier, b/c of the angle of rotation of the steering rod had hidden it. The looseness of the screw did not pose any risk in terms of loss of steering... my steering rod is D shaped, and the screw takes all the play out of the sliding male/female pieces. With the screw tightened, I took the car out again today. WHAT A JOY. Even with my laser level alignment, you can let the steering go, and the steamrollers track true for a LONG time. The joy is back in Frankn7 :hurray:
  24. Yeah, I called him accidentally last week when I meant to call one of my contractors. That windshield deal sucks a big one. He doesn't need a windshield anyway. He has a nice helmet. I'll contact him and see how far I get with that argument
