  1. See what I mean - no respect http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/toetap05.gif http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  2. I had used Mitchell years ago... in the late 80s
  3. If you have to ask...
  4. "too much" and "power" should never be spoken or written together http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/ack2.gif I just need more tire. Seriously, my car isn't optimized for autox, or anything else for that matter. It's just fun to drive. Can you imagine the owner of the Enzo seeing that vid? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/banghead.gif The other thing that stood out to me is how stiff that chassis is. Pretty amazing.

  6. Any downside to using these?

  8. Sweet. What tires are you running?
  9. I'm about to do a change of front uprights and A-arms in the next couple of weeks. Obviously since I have the car and the uprights, my hands will be tied as to what I can work with. But before I start, I'm going to analyze it, and make sure what I'm about to attempt isn't going to screw things up. My questions are: 1- How much movement of the roll center is "normal", both horizontally and vertically? From what I had read in the past, ideally the roll center needs to be above ground, and below the rear roll center? I could be totally wrong on that. 2- How much camber change is reasonable (i.e. at what point would it be considered a reasonably good setup) - as a function of roll or dive. I'm already aware of making sure the motion ratio for the spring should stay linear, so I'll be working on that. Any pointers welcome.
  10. Holy Cow! Tim Marren! I bought some injectors from him in the early 90s. I can't remember what I had for breakfast. I don't know why I remember that http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/willy_nilly.gif
  11. 30 seconds might be too much. I'll settle for .03 seconds http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/wink5.gif Honestly, I don't have high autox expectations, but that doesn't prevent me from some trash talkin' http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  12. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gif significant improvement tonight... My numbers are very comparable to Roll Center Calculator by Performance Trends http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif At 4 degrees roll, with the same setup, they get: RC(X,Y): 3.8,3.7 Camber left: -1.15, right: -5.22 I get RC: 4.04,3.69 Camber left: -1.14, right=-5.21 I need to improve the location of contact patch in my program, as I did a quick and dirty calc on that one. Everything else should be dead on. This was a little easier than I thought. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070326_220015_RollCenter3.JPG
  13. Usually they only give a 30 second pause between cars on the autox course... he'll need the mirrors in case i'm behind him in the lineup http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif I'm joking of course. I suspect he'll be running more than just autox with that mean machine http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif I'm glad you posted here... I thought the section was dying.
  14. Working prototype is sitting right here, but I figure I gotta work on the front suspension first http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  15. Welcome aboard http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif I love that vid http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  16. People in my office hear me coming long before they see me http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif

  18. looks like you had a hair raising experience http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gif
  19. Al's comment is funny... Dino's original post made me think that there is no perfect seven - in fact, to me a seven is a charming combination various imperfections that's irresistable. Dino, looking forward to seeing your creation. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif
  20. I will. At the very least, I'll have my current camera setup. If I get all the mods done in time, I might have a multi-camera setup installed (fore and aft)

  22. Still playing around with this... I need to finish doing the contact patch calculation to get a better roll center result, but things are looking promising. My calculations are still off compared to an off the shelf program that I have, but all the basics should be correct, so it's a matter of debugging what's going on. Here are a couple of screenshots of a little graphic I put together to visualize what's hapenning. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070324_215047_RollCenter1.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070324_215129_RollCenter2.JPG
  23. Actually, spring started last Tuesday night, at 8:07 PM (Persian new year is at the same time). http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/wink5.gif Glad you got to enjoy the car today. The rear is out of mine, and the new (new to me) rear is getting brackets welded to go in.slngsht2007-03-24 12:47:38
  24. Just brainstorming here... how about a Sevens across America thing... where we sort of do a passing of the torch. Northeast and Southeast caravan and meet somewhere, a group would head west to meet a similar group from the west. Everyone can participate to the level that they like (from just the region, to going cross country). A similar idea is being discussed at corvetteforum to raise money for disabled veterans (each participant would get mileage sponsor). It doesn't have the impact of having all the sevens in one place, but it would make for an excellent documentary. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  25. Thanks Skip. I think that one helps with roll bar, etc... I'm looking for one where I can design the general suspension layout. I will keep that one handy though. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/cheers2.gif
