  1. ZX14 or the oddball Triumph Rocket III
  2. I'll send them out this week, along with any others that I have that are not being used. Heheh some I have purchased are a bit over my poor truck driving brains education level (who knew they would actually want higher level math skills for building a car......). These fat books may do them more good than me, though I will have to find something else to balance my workbench.
  3. Would a couple of the LC books interest them? (I would be willing to purchase one of Keiths for that purpose, along with the Gibbs one) Along with a copy of Competition Car Suspension: Design, Construction, Tuning by Allen Staniforth (Author), since I have two. Was going to sell the spare, but if you think they would use it then they would be welcome to it.
  4. Thats cool. Amazing how some of these you can drive by and never know they are there. For those that may be interested, another one here in Nashville if you have time to spend travelling hither and yon. Also odd in that they set up events where people can ride in some of the cars, P50 (yes the one from that car show in England) etc. Also used to have a mini-car parade of some sort, though I have never seen it. They also have a few Sevens. Dunno if I have linked this before or not. Maybe a possible links page for the USA7's website to cool car musuems. http://www.lanemotormuseum.org/index.htm Another I read about, but then it moved farther away that may be worthy of a visit to mobile motorheads is this one. Used to be at the guys house, but got bigger and bigger. Cool that he would start them up for folks, not just put them on a pedestal with a do not touch sign near it. http://www.cyclemos.com/index.html
  5. Had I been faster with the quick draw and shoot with camera phone, I would have pics of that car. There was a new Flex, and two of those following it, along with an ambulance with big ford signs following them. This was on I65 S - MM 62. I find the SVO news more interesting though. The Ecoboost models in a RWD platform. I imagine the Caterham designers are drooling at getting a shot at one of those.
  6. This day is called Seven, Seven, Seven: He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a-tiptoe when the day is named, And rouse him at the name of Seven, Seven, Seven. He that shall see this day and live t'old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say "To-morrow is Seven, Seven, Seven": Then will he turn on his camera and show his Jpegs And say "These pics I had on Seven, Seven, Seven's day." Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day. Then shall their names, Familiar on the forum as household words Mazda the Insane, Al and Marcy, Rob and Jim, Jerry and Steve, Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Seven, Seven, Seven shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his oil with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen Nationwide now abed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That drove with us upon Seven, Seven, Seven's day. I was one abed, and do indeed regret not driving up to just to see. Oh, sorry about the above ripped off post, some things seem more humorous than they are at 2am and after few beers.
  7. Gracias. It was hard to read the print on my laptop, so thanks for clearing it up.
  8. Prob cheaper to just go get a complete JDM assembly. Serious bucks otherwise.
  9. Hehe best I can hope for at the IHOP on sat morning is that the minivan beside me doesn't dent my door.
  10. I would cry if I owned that cobra and I hit a bug (the flying splatting kind). Very Very nice cars. Aside from the 7's, I would have to say my favorite was the Dodge Power Wagon (At least thats what I think it was)
  11. Ok, educate me. Its a 1974 Caterham. Didn't Lotus stop making the 7 in 1975 (Series 4). So Caterham bought the rights, and started making the series 3 while Lotus was still making its series 4?
  12. I have used melling in the few engines I have built, never had a problem.
  13. I am betting at 1650 wet, 45/55. Your parts weigh about the same as mine....
  14. few farther down for sale, couple s2k
  15. Ahh, if only everyone would update websites as needed.
  16. While its not anything cool involving assorted uses of the 7 I was thinking it could be called Road Trip. I know when boredom set in, when someone called road trip, we were headed somewhere, just none knew where. Sometimes to the lake, once a marathon drive to the beach (12 hours away) alternating drivers, spending a few hours there then heading back. To me Road Trip could mean a short blat, a long planned out run or just a trip to Wendy's. Stories are told (not all true but still entertaining) and a good time is had.
  17. Well, at least those with a mind to will be able to legally own them as is their right in the first place. Heh, I mean the anti gun laws have kept downtown DC soooo safe as they are.

    Wife 1.0

Dear Tech Support: Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0 , Hunting and Fishing 7.5 , and Golfing 3.6. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0 , but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0 . Please help! Thanks, Troubled User..... _____________________________________ REPLY: Dear Troubled User: This is a very common problem that men complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING !!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0 . It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony/Child Support . I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best course of action is to enter the command C:APOLOGIZE! because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance . Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0 , Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2 . However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 ! WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system! Best of luck, Tech Support
  19. http://www.utahlotusmuseum.com/id265_m.htm Been for sale for a while, maybe gone, maybe not. Good Luck.
  20. Curious how many, like this one are actually known by a name?
  21. Heh, I have to wonder exactly how hard some of you drive. Small engine, small car, same engine used in some mid-size compact cars, ie pintos, focus, etc that get in excess of 20 mpg, more of even slightly mindful of fuel mileage. I know that mid 20's are not a problem with my SVO engine in a mid 80's Mustang or Turbo Coupe, I think the Merkurs did a bit better. So I am thinking we have some closet brick feet here who's definition of mildly sporting driving would scare most people.
  22. Know when to hold em, know when to fold em. I tend to operate under the "It's better to ask for forgiveness rather than ask for permission.", but not in this case.
  23. Of course I am kinda biased, as like the Red Baron (the seven I have on a pedestal), the above Blakely on ebay is powered by the same set up, which is also mine. Its performance is pretty impressive, its wet weight sans driver is 1650. Portly compared to some sevens but itis still pretty fast. Not to shabby for an old iron block Lima. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120274580984&rd=1 (Read-Wife said No, and said it far less politely)
  24. Heheh video no longer available.......for shame for shame!!! baaaad slngsht baaaad!!!! Now I want to see it that much more :banghead:
  25. Insurance companies are trying to get access to this info. Interesting arguements about this stuff. I know that the little box in my semi tells everything. Every shift, how long I was in each gear, the rpm I shifted at, idle time, anything you can think of.
