Better question is what is this? Any pictures of the front?

The Baby 7 weighed in at 187 lb on the corner weight scales at FM. I weigh more than the car. Power to weight ratio is in the 150 lb/hp range when I am in it. The 2004 Caterham 7 SV weighed in at 1,360 lb with a half tank of gas. The only carbon fiber on it are the two little whiskers on the sides of the nosecone. The turbocharger and all its related systems probably added 50 - 100 lb. Power to weight ratio on this car is 4.5 lb/hp depending on how much boost I am running. Its a little quicker than the Baby 7. :jester:

Keep it as is. -
Hi Josh, Ross told me at the LOCO meeting that you wanted the car. I'm happy to see it stay in your family and in the area. Congratulations!

Ross's trip in the above Seven and his Elan down the Mississippi River is chronicled here: http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/lotus-talk-f50/the-louts-lotus-and-the-great-river-t34266.html

When I discovered that the two stroke engine has a modular crankshaft and requires special jigs and presses to rebuild I lost interest in the project and sold the car for a small loss. I was mainly interested in rebuilding the engine myself and wasn't likely to keep a car around with only 45 HP.

A price hasn't been set yet. That's the purpose of this thread, to get an idea of a realistic price. The car is an unrestored original, well loved and maintained and driven. It needs a similar owner.

Ross Robbins, a dyed in the wool Lotus enthusiast has decided it is time to pass on the care of his Lotus 7. Ross is a former president of LOCO and the main man behind LOG27 and LOG35. He asked me what I thought it was worth and I really don't have a handle on Lotus 7 originals so I am putting his story and some pictures here to get input as to what the car is worth.

I got the Dodge and Desoto mixed up and missed a couple of the years. I'm both old and a life long gearhead and I got 84%. Starting with the 1955 model year a friend and I used to bicycle downtown to see the new cars when they were revealed each October.

OLD CAR TEST Each picture has two questions. If you are not in your 70s or close to it, or not a Gear Head, you will fall below National Average of 45%. New game is now on-line: 1954-1964 Dash ID A game identifying cars by their dashes. Is it too hard? Too easy? Or too fun? http://www.americantorque.com/game/dash-id-54-64/

The hub of the removable steering wheel is likely splined to the steering shaft and can be removed and reseated. If not, then the same thing can be accomplished at the joint between the lower shaft and the steering rack. Its possible you just need an alignment and during the alignment the steering wheel can be centered by adjusting the tie rod ends.

"Bob, I'm sorry. I've been riddled with guilt and I have to confess: I have been helping myself to your wife when you're not around, probably more than you. I know it's no excuse but I don't get it at home. I can't live with the guilt any longer. I hope you'll accept my sincerest apology. It won't happen again." Feeling outrage and betrayed, Bob grabs his gun, goes into the bedroom, and without a word, shoots his wife. Moments later the guy gets a second text: "Really should use spell check! That should be "wifi"."

We had eight Se7ens at the British Motoring Conclave today. A new one showed up that I had never seen before, the Great British Sports Cars (GBS) Zero. The dealer brought his personal car which was clad in polished stainless steel over GRP. It looks a lot like a Caterham and was a very impressive car. The obvious question was, how much does is weigh? He claimed 1,300 lb which is close to what my Caterham SV weighs. http://www.greatbritishsportscars.co.uk/our-cars-2/ I had left my camera in the other car so I couldn't take any pictures but a friend did and I will get some from him and post them. They are designed to use Miata drive trains and parts of the suspension. He said the company was an offshoot of the old Robin Hood company.

The Baby 7 on the Autocross Course at LOG35
scannon replied to scannon's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I used it today to lift the back end of the car onto the trailer after the British Motoring Conclave. Very handy item, it just won't do its primary job for me and I hope I never need it for that. -

Its actually quite useful. It is instrumental in getting myself in and out of the car. Also useful for pushing the car around. -

Good one. That was a loaner helmet. They were all that color. Makes a nice Bronco's color combination with the orange and blue. Go Broncos, stomp KC tonight! :hurray: Judging from the look on my face I think that was when I was lost and wondering why the course worker waved me off in that particular direction. A couple of times when I got off course I looked around and at least three course workers were waving me in different directions. This was my first time on autocross in at least 35 years and even in those early days I got lost on the course a lot. -

I had just completed one of the two runs where I managed to complete the whole course. I had also managed to hang the tail out and even got some tire squeal on one of the gates. I was a happy camper. How I get out of the car, about as graceful as getting out of the Caterham with the weather gear installed. -
KING ARTHUR AND THE OLD, UGLY WOMAN Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighbouring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if, after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death. The question?...What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end. He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer. Many people advised him to consult the old ugly woman, for only she would have the answer. But the price would be high; as the woman was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged. The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the old woman. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first. The old ugly woman wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend! Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life. He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table. Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the woman answered Arthur's question thus: What a woman really wants, she answered....is to be in charge of her own life. Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the woman had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it was, the neighbouring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the ugly woman had a wonderful wedding. The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened. The young beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared ugly, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half. Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day -- or night? Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old ugly woman? Or, would he prefer having a hideous woman during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments? What would YOU do? What Lancelot chose is below. BUT --- make YOUR choice before you scroll down below. . OKAY? Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself. Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life. Now....what is the moral to this story? The moral is -- If you don't let a woman have her own way... Things are going to get ugly..

Dean, what's so wrong, I do have a helmet on. No butt extractor, I have to sort of shrug my way up a bit using the roll bar until I can get a heel on a cross bar then I can use my legs to stand up and step out and into my shoes. I have to take my shoes off to drive it and I stuff them between my butt and the interior side panels to help hold me in place. The throttle and brake pedals are just forward of the headlights. Here's a few more pictures from a different photographer. -
I feel the occasional hit on my face which is one reason I always wear goggles and provide them to passengers. Most of it getting inside the car is first thrown up by the front wheels. It then bounces off the rear wing where the airflow around the windshield and into the cockpit picks it up and drops it in your lap and the floor of the car. After the 2,400 miles of the GBB I vacuumed up several pounds of small rocks and sand from inside my Caterham.

Honda calls it a "floating seat". I guess the idea is to make a four wheel vehicle as close as possible to a motorcycle experience. It will never make it into production for street use as having four wheels it will have to pass all the safety and crash requirements like any other automobile.
