At the bottom of the ebay posting: The chassis used in this Lotus 7 is not the original chassis. The chassis in this Lotus 7 is a new chassis. The chassis was not built by Lotus or Caterham. Makes you wonder who built it and whether they knew what they were doing.

Between the sidewall and the fender stays I have no more than 1/4" clearance. With the R888s in 205/50-15 one stay actually touches until the raised letters wear off a bit. From the top of the tire to the underside of the fender is about 1.5 - 2". I put the top of the tire under the fender first and then rotate the bottom in to get the wheel on the studs.

Coils do get warm but generally not so hot you cannot touch them. If you ran the Accel coil without a ballast resistor and the circuit to go with it you are asking for trouble.

Does the coil get really hot to the touch about the time the missing shows up? It or the electronic box could be getting heat sensitive with age (or other problems).

And heavy. There was one at a C&C here earlier this month. It was mostly ignored, probably because it was a mostly sports and exotics group with few younger people. I got passed by a RHD Skyline GTR on the interstate the other day. First one of those I've seen on the road. It had a great sound as he went flying by.
