    CMC Miata

Found this in Sacramento off Craigslist and bought it over the phone after seeing 4 pictures. After 2 years of craving decided this is the one. Car is Champion Framed with Miata suspension and engine. I bought the car with engine out and all electrical removed, and with my pick up full of parts. Steve the 2nd builder of this car gets the credit for cage, front nose and alot of improvements. I'll call myself an assembler for now.
  2. Many of you will not know that his tires have a wear rating of 8 zillion instead of 100 or whatever for the sticky tires. Also notice his tire profile are more 75 than 45. Which starts to explain him not being even faster. Martin, Sorry I missed the autocross, spent some quality guy time with my older son.
  3. pleasure to meet you at Laguna Seca, . I met you at your cars in the lot, and thank you for your information. who is the gentleman in Cambria and the name of the book?, Ingmar Lauringson central coast CA. ( Nipomo)

  4. Dig you look at the Superperformance in Kentucky on CL, it was in your price range?
  5. hi Twnpipe is Ingmar, we met when I brought my son to the show. Very impressed by your car. Just know that if I bought it I'd end up switching motors to more power for track days which means trany & rr end also. And the car looks great the way it is.

  6. Nice detail work on his car.
  7. Was able to see the car today at British Car Show in Oxnard today. Best construction of the cars I have seen. From quality of welding to brackets added where needed and a totally complete car. The pictures do not do it justice as it looks so much better in person and got more attention at the show than the surrounding late model cars.
  8. don't recognize LOONY - not a Canadian coin in this context.
  9. Was the frame the wider style, and did the owner determine a price?
  10. Nice blue, still a newbie... search first than ask questions.
  11. Is it still boxed and shippable to the west coast? Cost to ship in round numbers? How old and built for what motor, and what color blue? I see the latest are built for S2000. thank you
  12. On the latest version are those ducts to the belly pan to create downforce? The buyer with the detailed photo's of your car. Take it as a compliment on the frame design, "stolen from the best" is all too common
  13. Thank you for all the pictures to drool over. Such a great variety of the same theme
  14. http://www.rcmania.com/air-hogs-zero-gravity-micro/ didn't work for me, I think we took aprat an air hog and built a car with it, interested in story.

  16. A friend asked me how many different builders there are and i guessed 15- 20. Then i searched forums and didn't locate a specific list. I recall coming across these. If a builder with his variations , nationality, time period etc. it could be interesting Lotus Seven - the original Caterham- England and Canada? Westfield - USA (FW260 looked interesting) Robin Hood- England Brunton -USA Stalker and Superstalker Donkervoots Dax, Birkin CRS 260 ? Ultralite Locost - general term homebuilt, from the book
  17. British- response, American - Reaction As an ex Canadian living in the states for 30 years I now understand better my American wife. Lots of Reaction, less response. Now which 7 is more American ?, the Brunton chevy powered, the Canadian ? Hayabusa powered ? Tough choices ahead, tending towards Brunton. Greatly enjoy the forum.
