Lotus Seven TR10 Rear Axle Housing and Differential
SevenAmerica replied to dssbrown's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Doug, would you sell the 4:55 diff separately? -
Hey Craig - can I come by sometime soon to pick up the other parts that you were holding onto for me?
-
I think I have a set… tell us about your project?

WTB Semaphore/Lucas Turn Signal Timer Switch
SevenAmerica replied to IamScotticus's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Holden.co.uk supply them new. https://www.holden.co.uk/p/lucas-31250-self-cancelling-vacuum-indicator-switch-1 -
Sorry, just saw your post - I’ve a couple good used A frames available in case Redline doesn’t come through!
-
Hi Henry - depends on your engine/transmission - my BMC Sprite powered Seven uses a… Sprite or MG Midget clutch kit. So mine’s easy! You’d probably find success with http://leechapmanracing.com or https://lotus7.com/Home.html. Either can certainly point you in a direction. cheers!

Hey Vin, I have a set of front and rear flared wing brackets available, used, good condition... but the fronts do not have the headlamp mounting... easy enough to fabricate I'd think?

Al! Selling her off? Let me put Bessie up on SimpleSevens - just a token donation and/or any old parts is all I ask. Send me some more photos and I’ll make up a page for you. Definitely one of the cooler Sevens out there, especially since so many now available are full on race cars!

Wiper arms & blades, Hand Brake set up
SevenAmerica replied to Vinman1's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Vin - the e-brake lever is a modified Triumph Spit/Herald piece. Pre-1978. For installation in the Seven, the lever gets bent at its base. Remember that the lever actuates the CASING of the brake cable, not the cable itself... Typical Lotus ingenuity. I can provide more details if you need when I get home next week. These parts were a good find! -
I don’t have a spare hanging around, but it’s basically a small Triumph (Spitfire, Herald, GT6) handbrake lever with a bend in it.

I have an extra pair available, very similar to original spec Lucas S700. The red ones on my car are the original S700, the yellow ones are available.

Hey Tim! Just found you on the forum here... Regarding Wingard 1055's - they were aftermarket lights for what the English call 'caravans' -- like if you went into your local auto parts and bought a set of lights for your trailer. Yes they are a little Similar to the Lucas units that are readily available, but (to me anyway) the mark of a proper restoration is to use the proper lights. I've seen so many pricey, meticulous restorations that end up with those Lucas lamps... it's how you tell if an owner or seller really cares - they'll say 'oh, those are impossible to find' but you and I know different don't we :-) Yours will ship out tomorrow! Cheers, jd

Is this a legit sale?
SevenAmerica replied to Timothy Keith-Lucas's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I would personally walk away unless you can actually see the car in person prior to committing any money to the purchase. -
That’s definitely not a Mk VI. Wasn’t the valiant a straight six anyway? Whatever it is, I suspect that there’s not much of a Lotus 7 under the skin, but clearly someone made an effort for it to ‘look like’ a Lotus Seven - genuine Wingard tail lamps, and original rear ‘bumper’/license plate bracket… I mean, for a V8 with dual pipes of that bore, you’d need significant front frame and suspension mods, a more stout transmission with associated frame mods, and a more stout rear axle as well (also with associated suspension mods for locating and harnessing the power). Otherwise I’m afraid I haven’t a clue what’s going on there :-)

Check with Josh at http://www.rockymountaincaterham.com He has a few S2 parts there, but also may know a source if he doesn’t have them. Early Caterham will be the same. Until Caterham started messing about with the chassis dimensions, they should all be interchangeable, with only detail differences. If you’re diligent in searching, they turn up on eBay every now and again.
